I think the Arctic Monkeys are very much overrated and more targeted at teeny bopper age group, In a word they are - ****
Arctic Monkeys are good and the riffs & lyrics are class, but they're hardly original. They even said they owed the Strokes for most of their creativity. Loads of bands/ rappers have done songs about how the country's going to the dogs and what they youth are doing. Their albums since their first two haven't been the same. The riffs have worked but the lyrics have got dafter ie "Break a mirror roll the dice, Run with scissors through a chip pan fire fight. Go into business with a grizzly bear, But just don't sit down 'cause I've moved your chair." Although Black Treacle is a start of a recovery.
Toto were hardly a One Hit Wonder band. Try 22 at least but mainly in America and europe. Fell short a bit in the UK but still had hits with Rosanna - Georgy Porgy - Hold the Line - I carnt Hold You Back are others that spring to mind. Great band and You Tube has Toto Live in Amsterdam and Toto in concert in Borghom from 2011. Classic song and sadly they were. Front man Gregg Alexander has in the years since he broke up the New Radicals worked with Ronan Keating - Sophie-Ellis Baxter and Enrique Eglesias. Shame as New Radicals had potential. Great video and one of the best done by anyone. Nevermind the sissy bikes the whole structure of the video is great.
'No hit' wonders yet....but they'll get there....check out DANCE HALL GIANTS on YouTube doing 'Nemo & the Nautilus'....epic!
