Seems Cort is out along with Taylor now :( so who will we bring in?

Dervite has been on the bench since Taylor has been out so he seems obvious but could Mambo who seems to have been around forever so perhaps it is his time?

    Who'dy think?

    <cheers>

I am sorry to disagree with a poster on another Charlton site who posted
well let's look at that shall we?
Yards went to Stains Town to play at CB but as they had a problem at RB Yards covered there and he played so well that Stains loaned him for the rest of the season to play RB. Last season Yards was on loan at Ebbsfleet in the Conference, he played 24 games and was credited by a number of Ebbsfleet supporters for stabilising their defence when it started the season quite poorly. As was shown by Chris Solly..... unless you give our youth a chance, how are they going to show you what they can do?

Isn't mambo recovering from an injury himself? Might not be ready for the first team.

Dervite seems the obvious choice, but I'm not ruling out CP getting somebody in for the month.

Mambo played in the last U21 game against Colchester and last Friday's reserve game against Chelski

I saw that, but still think he's building fitness back up.

If he's 100% I'm not adverse to giving him a start. If he's anything less then he should be kept away from the squad.

Never saw Mambo when he was at Eastbourne but apparently he was terrible but that could of been said about most of that team then ....

Throwing Mambo in to the derby game is a bit risky, it's one thing playing in a League Cup game at home with a placid atmosphere but just imagine the knock to his confidence if he doesn't play all that well.

Surely Dervite must be fit by now, and if he doesn't play then I don't see why we've signed him.

Totally Agree with that. Mambo doesn't want to be sent back years confidence wise by doing a bad pass or a missed tackle against Palace. Lets hope that Dervite is fit and plays solidly. I would love if he does this year what Cort did last year. Taylor seemed solid and one of the first names on the team sheet, then Cort had his chance and didn't look back, if Dervite performs like that we will have no worries against Palace :D

I remember Linvoy Primus... his debut was a televised game where he won MoM and was talked about as a future Prem star..... after 4 appearances he was released on a free to Barnet :( very very good pro!

Sometimes too much exposure too early does not do a player any good.

Would you feel confident in mambo starting, AH? Or given the option would you pick Dervite?

Dervite has played L1 football for Southend, he was Barca B team player, France U21 Captain....... ehhmm..... I will have to go Dervite BUT Yards would let nobody down if he was picked and I certainly wouldn't have any worries bringing him on from the bench <ok>

Dervite for me - looked confident and calm on the ball at Gillingham, although a little short of match fitness.

I do like Mambo and he has been waiting a long, long time but to debut against Palace, not sure about that one.

I hope so, but not for a CB. That would be crazy as we will have five when Taylor and Cort are fit again. And a slap in the face to Dervite and Mambo.

I hope he is looking for a LM and looking urgently.

Ricardo Gardner is still a free agent, left winger/wingback. Perhaps a weekly contract? at 33 he's still got another season or two in him <ok>
