A quiet day for news, so I thought I'd create a thread. Who do you reckon will be Southampton's top assister in the Premier League? Last season in the Championship, Fox got the most with 11. This season I'm going to go for Lallana, I think he'll be the focal point of our attack and will unlock defences with a killer pass. Who do you think? Edit: Lambert was top last year with 12 assists.
Ramirez only got 4 assists last season, and I think he will take a while to settle in regardless. Lambert will get the most assists imo.
Ramirez is more of a goalscorer than an assister. That said, he does play the odd cheeky reverse/chipped passes in and around the box, it's just that he didn't quite have the quality around him at Bologna to add the finishing touches, so hopefully Lambert and Lallana can add those! I think Lambert will have the most, his ability to bring other players in around him is stellar and is really really underrated in this regard. Kind of got the Grant Holt label in terms of just being a goalscorer, but he adds so, so much more.
Lambert every time - his awareness around the box astounds me and the accuracy of his passing does the rest. I'd be happy but surprised if anyone can beat him.
Jay Rodriguez. I can imagine him getting a shedload of assist and few goals and many fans getting on his back. Possibly Puncheon, and obviously Lallana will be up there... hopefully.
Lambert. He's the motherfuckin man! Great feet, great head, great passing, great movement, he deserves that no. 7 shirt.
