I'm off! Everton star Fellaini says this season will be his last at Goodison Park Bombshell: Fellaini (right) Everton star Marouane Fellaini has dropped a bombshell by claiming that this season will be his last at Goodison Park. The all-action Belgian has emerged as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since his £15million move from Standard Liege in 2008, and he has started the season in blistering form. But, speaking to a newspaper in his homeland, the 24-year-old has revealed that he wants to leave the club at the end of this season, or perhaps even during the January transfer window. 'I am just starting my fifth season at Everton, this will be one of my last. I have seen everything. In January or at the end of the season I will turn to another club or championship,' Fellaini is quote as saying in Het Nieuwsblad. Key man: Fellaini is considered to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League Fellaini is contracted to the Toffees until 2016 but, as displayed by the recent sale of Jack Rodwell to Manchester City, manager David Moyes would be willing to cash in should a significant profit be made from the transfer. Chelsea have been consistently linked with the 35-cap international over the last few years, while Real Madrid were also tracking Fellaini in the summer and could be tempted to make a move. Well its happened to us a few times now with our best players, i think the Toffees could drop like a stone with him gone.
Arguably their best player, I'd expect Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea to all be in for him as well as the giants from Spain and Italy. Won't go for less than 15m mind.
Think he will go to Man City and Barry will be sold on... HOWEVER This seems a very VERY odd time to come out with this...
Moyes is too canny to let this knock him off track. The profit from a sale would finance a few more top ten finishes if you ask me.
Of topic but about Fellaini he has Niall (my name) spelt backwards and he was born on 22nd November (same as me)
Barely a month into the season and after the summer window Fellaini tells this to the papers? strange.
Great player, perfect for Man U, I could see him going for big money as he is only 24. 25m+ I would say, lets face it he is better than Modric and look how much he went for.
He is the best player in the EPL in his postion but is so good, he can adapt to 2 or 3 postions and still be awesome. I feel sorry for Blues fans but this lad is a Champions League, top 3 or 4 club player and Everton are not there, or even close to it tbf. He would walk into the Man Utd, Chelsea or Man City team in the EPL or even the Real or Barca team imo. £15m? He is worth double that imo.
I'd put a lot of money on him going to United. United are in desperate need of holding midfield players. They don't really have one. Fletcher and Carrick are good players, but they're not really top class defensive/holding mids.
