Hoilett: I need time to settle at QPR The former Blackburn man admits that he is yet to hit form this season but believes that it is only a matter of time until he is firing for the Hoops under Mark Hughes Junior Hoilett admits that it will take time for him and his team-mates to fully click at new club QPR. The Canadian joined the Loftus Road outfit from relegated Blackburn this summer but has only managed to make one appearance for Mark Hughes' side so far this campaign. Hoilett's arrival at QPR was one of 11 new signings by the London club in the summer transfer window. The winger is aware that he will need to be in top form to compete for a regular place in the Hoops' starting line-up this season but believes that Hughes is the right manager to bring the best out of him. He told the Daily Mirror: "One of my aims is to get the ball in the back of the net and create *chances for others. "You always need a bit of time to settle in to your new club. It wonât be long before we are all up to speed. "Working with a manager like Mark Hughes is great for a young player."
I think hes been crap and he cant be too pleased with him performances if hes coming out with statements like this. So far, hes a younger SWP but with less work rate.
Bit harsh Flyer think he hasnt been his best but far from crap, first half against Swansea he played really well. The the fact he has only played 3 games is a bit harsh one of the best signings and players we have had for a long time he will come good
When you sign players like him for big wages, you should expect them to perform. How many goals or assists has he got so far? So far he always looks like he will do something because of his speed but has done sod all so thats why I said he reminds me of SWP. He also does zero tracking back so he must have an end product to justify his place or he is worse than SWP. At least SWP offers something defensively. I think and hope he will come good but Im far from impressed with him so far, especially his laziness. Everyone should watch his work rate and see how often he fails to get back to help out, even Taarabt is doing that now and thats why Id drop him for Taarabt (providing the story wasnt true) next weekend.
People seems to forgot it takes time to settle not just football moving to a new city, moving his family and if he has kids looking for schools. I know it can take a good a month or so to get sorted. So Taarabt is now tracking back are you well i suggest you watch the Swansea game where he let Dyer just run past him and didnt even try to get back with him????
A winger tracking back should be on the opposing FB if he gets forward, its our FBs responsibility to pick up their winger. No winger will track back 100% of the time, however Hoilett has done it 0% of the time. Theres is no excuse for laziness, especially when he isnt producing offensively.
I answered it, its not his job to mark the opposing winger, thats the FBs job, Taarabt just has to shout to the FB to take him.
Are you serious with that comment you know nothing about football its not his job a player has just run past you making a run into the box but its ok not to try and get back because it is not his job to do so. Did you evev watch the swansea match? It is every players duty to pick up any man on the pitch.
I actually do agree with you about his lack of tracking back, I noticed that against Swansea and its definitely something he needs to work on. However I think the comment "How many goals or assists has he got so far?" is a little harsh - the only game he played in, no QPR player scored! And he actually came the closest with that curling shot that went just past the far post after cutting inside from the wing - very promising passage of play from an otherwise terrible team performance. If he gets that tracking back sorted then we've got a very exciting player on our hands IMO. Just give the guy a chance
Walsall? Didn't do **** all against L1 defenders. Norwich? Completely shown up by Snodgrass. Not convinced yet, and he'll block our best player getting in the team. (Evening Queenslander)
I played lots off football and several seasons at LW, if he takes the winger, who takes the FB when he get forward? Thank god you arent the manager, wed lose every game getting pulled out of position right left and centre if you were. If he takes the winger, our FB is left marking no one and their FB is free to get forward and then cut inside unmarked leaving no one to mark him.
I liked what I saw of Hoilett at Blackburn, and think he can replicate that and more with us. It takes some players longer to settle than others. Seem to remember Paul Furlong getting castigated for his early performances, yet he went on to become a favourite
Flyer he let a man stroll past him and made no effort to track back and get to him only Taarabt could have got back to him. So how is that not his job to to get back at him and dyer ran though the middle.
