Well, one thing is for sure, we won't get a third promotion on the run. I was optimistically hoping for thirteenth, that's also what I expected last year as we consolidated for Promotion this season, got that wrong, big time.

I shall quote CBK at the start of last season:

    We will walk this league.

I predicted 19th in the premiership table prediction thing a few weeks ago, so i'll cover my bases here and say 16th. In all seriousness I don't have the foggiest where we will finish. I doubt it'll be top half, and I do think we'll most likely be involved in an almighty relegation scrap. I think Wigan, Norwich, Reading, West Ham and ourselves will be involved from what i've seen so far, but I wouldn't rule out a team who have started well (like Fulham, WBA or Swansea) getting dragged in. I don't think Villa will be involved in the dogfight any more than they were last season. Their manager is too good.

I've also got a terrible sinking feeling that at least two of the promoted sides will go down, so if i'm right our odds on survival ain't great.

I seem to remember we had this topic only a few weeks ago. Obviously sufficient milli-seconds have gone by that the question has to be asked again. Well I'll give you the same answer - midtable.

And that is quite possibly the most reasoned analysis I've read in a long time. Easier said than done though but here's hoping.
Oh and 17th it's going to be squeaky bum time in April and May.

Its impossible to tell after 3 games, 2 of which were UTD and City. We don't know how other teams will play against us other than the top 4 or 5. Are they going to attack or are they going to sit back and defend and counter attack. We vcan take heart from our performances against City and UTD but I don't think they give a realistic view of how we will perform over the season.

After 10 games we will have a better idea but for now and basing it on absolutly nothing I will say 14th.

I said at the start and I am ever so consistent, 14th. We will play some great football, our defense isn't that bad and we can score.

I reckon 16th. In our favour is the fact that our players are learning the vital lessons of this league in the early stages against the teams we do not expect to beat (Wigan not included) so by the time they start proving themselves we will be up against teams like Villa who we are better than.

Because we played so badly against Man Utd and Man City and haven't improved our squad at all?

I predicted Swansea to come bottom and now my prediction has changed. I think yours will too in time.

Harsh that hes predicting a newly promoted team which has lost its first three games to be relegated?? Nah thats just being rational. I think we wont go down and am actually quite positive but its quite reasonable for fans of other clubs to think we'll strugle most promoted teams do.

Anyway I reckon 17th. Think we've got a top 10 strike force but a below par defence and if our key players like Lambert Lallana and hopefully Ramirez shine they will pull us out of the relegation zone. Lets be honest the future is so bright if we surivive this first hard year it will be excellent, weve had two successive promotions that makes staying up tricky but I think weve improved the squad enough to surive!
