We gave him his chance, he's on a long term contract and he's playing for a fantastic manager and for a team on the up. Why leave to a team plummeting to the bottom half of the table.

    B*llocks imo.

he can't pass well enough to fit into rodgers' style of play, so i can't see them breaking the bank to land him.

in any case, they couldn't afford an extra £2m to get dempsey when they are crying out for a goalscorer - where the **** are they going to get the £15m minimum we will want for maclean??

    At the right price.
If we get an offer over 10 mill, I think we consider letting him go. Give MON that kind of cash and I'm sure we would end up with the better of the deal.
A lot depends on how he goes in the coming months, as he has not started well. He needs to add something to his game, as defenders are now expecting his direct running style.

agree with this, the lad is a kick and run footballer and as people say he is an old fashioned winger, the modern game requires more than that as we have seen with Walcott he just runs in a straight line, he doesn't drop the shoulder and doesn't have a trick and the potential that that lad had that Arsenal signed from Southampton has certainly not lived up to what we thought back then.

McClean has the potential to be a good premier league player and he has had a good start to his premier career but he needs to continue and add more to his game if he wants to succeed in the premier league long term

If Man City can get to pay £95 mil for Ronaldo the bin dippers can have McLean for £100 mil

Not in our interests to sell. We've just balanced the midfield by buying AJ.

Also I think Derry have a 25% sell on clause

Having watched both league matches, I would stick by the the statement that he hasn't started well but you are right in pointing out that he is not alone. I just hope he takes it up a level and adds a bit to his game. Nobody wants to see him shine more than I do, particularly that we now have a proper center forward, both McClean and AJ need to supply the crosses.
