    Anyone heard the interview?

Apparently he doesn't want to play anywhere else now.
Of course you don't Shrek, you got your £250,000 a week over your petty petulance, why move now despite threatening to do so then?

He now thinks it was a huge mistake. Mmmmm.

Never heard him mention his whinging, slagging off of England fans in South Africa after yet another inept performance.
Lads who had probably put all the overtime in they could get to go on a trip of a lifetime to watch another ****e England display.
What's he want them to do? Kiss his arse?

The bloke has never cut it on the international stage never mind the world one.

Well said, if he feels so bad about going in a strop he should agree to a new contract on the terms he was on before.

He's cut it in the CL for Man Utd. Playing in an England team that can barely string 3 passes together with a cm of Stevie "hollywood ball" Gerrard and Scott Parker is never going to benefit him. Euro 2004 he was awesome <laugh> a while ago now!

Wasn't that when he was sent off against Portugal?

The last time I actually got excited about England.

nar that was WC06. Euro2004 was his sort of announcement. He was everywhere, think we'd have won it if he never got injured V Portugal in the quarters. Truth is we're too over-reliant on him yet don't play a kind of football that allows him to flourish

I stand corrected good sir, <ok>.

People talk of him being "world class" but to be that you have to do it on the world stage & imo he never has.

The England squad as a whole need to realise that they're not as good as they think they are.

    Rooney included.

That's results based though & tbf, England don't lose that many mainly because qualifying groups & group stages of the major tournaments have been quite kind over the last few years.

It's the ****e performances from supposedly world class players I was getting at.

For me Internationals are a load of rubbish. It's all about who pays your wages Al'a AJ. I couldn't care less if the lad never played for England again.

Fair play to Rooney for taking the gamble and making Man U double his wages. Man U are the stupid ones here.

If a club is stupid enough to give those sorts of wages and the player can get them, then fair play. Lets not get up-set and call players over paid so and so's when 'Our' clubs are the stupid one paying it.

The footballers do more than just play football and if they have the brains to make more money (regards of the crazy fees) then who are we to call them.

Jealousy is a horrible thing and if people start hating then that's all it is.

Am I alone in.thinking he's massively over rated? I don't think he'd manage double figures in a team outside top 4. He needs 5 or 6 chances to put one in the net and you just don't get that luxury in a team that's not at the top

The point of the op was how sorry he is for holding the club to ransome but not for being a ****y **** to ordinary people who had grafted their arses off to go over there to watch him play like a ****ing tosser.
