I was at work when Fonte scored. Hope no managers were watching on CCTV because I began to behind the counter. My colleague explained to the customers that I was a little excited.
I live in Sunny Bournemouth in a quiet close. The guy who lives opposite is 82 and a lifelong Brighton fan. I was doing the front lawn at about 1pm today and he came out to have a chat and said how he wanted us to win and get promoted - he said he'll see what he can do... I was far too nervous to listen so at half time I checked the score and went food shopping very peed off. I got back at 4:40. I checked the score on the Radio on the way back and got a thumbs down from my neighbour as I went up the drive. I was still too nervous to listen and thought I would wait until 5pm to see hear the inevitable. At 5:55 there was a huge bang on my door and i opened it to see my 82 year old neighbour smiling and shouting that "we gifted you two goals" In my shock I thought that we had lost, but then when he started shaking my had I realised what had happened! I ended up hugging him in the street and even his wife ran over and started hugging! The rest of the close (all hate football) thought we'd gone mad. At 82 he even joined in my chant of "we are going up". Very surreal as he is a Brighton fan! I did point out that it was a good job that I was the saints fan as him being 82 what they are doing to us is not fair even to a 41 year old's heart! As an aside, did anyone listen to Solent after the match and hear Prince the Chihuahua'a text...that's my boy!
Ah what a great story. My neighbour is a Pompey fan & would of run me over with his mower had we beaten them ha ha ha. Makes you think Love thy Neighbour who ever they support.
