Thanks Surgeryman, we've had many briefings as to the procedures, and it's incredible what the plan is. I was totally astonished that they are going to cut through the vertebra in 2 places vertically so they have a wide enough slot to get the cord through the gap to remove them to gain access to the nasties, then, and get this they will then put the vertebra back into place and glue the cutout back in!! There will also be no stitches as they will also glue the wound leaving her with a 7cm scar which we are promised will fade in a few months. Well we're not to bothered about the scar as bless her, her modelling days are over, but the glueing and cutting and shutting is standard apparently. Not only that but we're told that if things go well I can take her home after 4/5 days!!!! GOBSMACKED X 2!!!
If you do this for a living, then I bow to you, you're amazing!

Good luck, as others have said, to Mrs Delia and yourself.
She'll have the best care it's possible to get and bounce back stronger from the ordeal <ok>

Thanks for the new posts of support, sorry I didn't reply earlier but we were at the Paralympics all day yesterday.
    Absolutly AWSOME!!

I think the problem will be trying to keep her away from CR Superman, she loves her footy!

We were there last night and I can only agree that it was absolutely phenomenal!! We lucked right out with our tickets, we were bang on the finishing line and were supposed to be in row 65 but as the missus is almost nine months pregnant they moved us to row 31 so we didnt have to trek up the steps and were at the very front row of the upper section - literally could not have picked better seats in the entire stadium, and for twenty quid as well! It more than made up for the fact I only got to see the boxing in the Olympics, and was a night I'll never forget for sure!

....and we went home as two, not quite three, thankfully the little un behaved herself and didn't make her first appearance to the world just yet ;)

Only just noticed this ILD, very sorry to hear about your missus, and I hope everything with the op. goes well, sounds horrific what they´re going to have to do, but it´s amazing what they can perform these days. All the best.

Blimey Munky, we weren't very far apart, we were in row 54 dead in front of the medal podium. What about the noise? it's got to be my abiding memory of these games, the Brits really got behind the team. When David Weir got his medal during the morning session the place went mental, it was spine tingling for us so how the hell he felt I don't know. Really really pleased we went to both games now, it truely has been an experience of a life time and extraordinarily inspiring.
Glad your wife held it in mate, but that would have been a unforgettable place to give birth.

Hope all goes well for the operation for Mrs D. Someone at work just had to have some removed, they are still off work, but the opperation went well and that's with being upside down and all.
