It's fair to say theyve had a horrific start to the season with Borini not hitting the ground running, a red card, gerrard not in form etc etc Does anyone else think that we can hammer these to kick-start our season? I watched them play Arsenal and it has to be said I have seen school kids play better than Liverpool did, captain was whining and moaning and they were more or less chasing shadows... Suarez is a good player but a bit overhyped imo, however I do believe to be their main threat... Now as long as one of our defenders doesn't pass the ball back to keeper from a free kick...Turner -.-, I think we could get maybe 3-1 or better... Feeling confident about this game, don't put a bet on Syd...
I live in the hope that MoN makes the SoL a place where other clubs fear to come...alas that hasn't really happened in recent years. Our stadium could be an intimidating place, we have a manager to make that happen. So liverpool or any team coming here should be in for a proper game these days. As for Liverpool, they are no great shakes at all...living off past memories. They have a very long road to get anywhere near they were. The players they have now just don't frighten teams anymore. I'm not saying its going to happen, but I expect Sunderland to win.
I saw Liverpool against Man City and they looked excellent and they should have beaten them. So let's not take Liverpool too lightly. They have great players all over the park. I'd take a 1-0 us now. We will need to be at our best to get a result.
If we can get an early goal the pressure will really be on for Liverpool. I dont like their team at all its got no width or penetration. McClean will have a field day as their fullbacks like to really push up, if Johnson is fit we could do some real damage. I fancy us to beat them. Liverpool is always a big crowd and a greal atmosphere. Sunderland 2-0 Liverpool
Sure their fans will still look at the paperwork and call themselves top 4 contenders but they're not and if you were to ask a betting expert to give you odds on Steven Gerrard never playing another Champions League game again for Liverpool, then I reckon the figure he'd write down would be heavily odds-on, considering his age and the fact that his engine looks f*cked. I do think you'll beat them - they shouldn't cause you much trouble really, not strictly because you're better than they are (we'll leave that until May to decide, although I think you'll finish above them) but because their morale couldn't be any lower right now, they look awful, any team will beat them, like Hearts almost showed. Hearts! They have United up next after you guys and no doubt we'll fail to take advantage of it, so that might galvanise them, good time to be playing them.
Valid point there, Glen Johnson will struggle to cope with McClean and therefore take another of Liverpool's players to help with keeping him at bay, Johnson and Enrique could be a good battle, think fletcher will need help with Agger and Skrtel though
Well they did look better than man city I'll admit but city have been pretty shocking at the back this year so far IMO. We haven't lost to Liverpool in the last four matches now (yes,4!!) compared when they used to spank us. Just not afraid of them now and I think it will be a great game personally, there is always a twist when we play each other, and I'll be disappointed if we don't at least get a point
I'd agree with Concrete on this one. They looked really good against Citeh. However, they don't seem to be consistent (in the 3 games so far ha-ha-ha) I would also be happy with a 1-0
No-one else has scored against Swansea this season & leaving there with a draw, I don't think many will, not many others will get a nil-nil draw at Arsenal either, so I'm quite optimistic we'll get a result against Liverpool, in fact I'm almost tempted to put a fiver on the Scousers to be relegated this season!
Its all well and good thinking Liverpool are crap etc and we are all right, but things dont work like that do they.
Not a bad team, they are just like us and looking to find their rythm. It will come but hopefully after our game.
Liverpool don't have a pot to piss in. However, if their owner wants to dip into their deep pockets and furnish our bank account to the tune of say £20m, and the lad wanted to go, then I'd do the deal and give Mon the whole amount to bring in replacements. No-one is irreplaceable imo and McClean isn't George Best.
Liverpool haven't got into their stride yet and will be looking for something against little old Sunderland. Sods law they play like men possessed next week and hammer us it's the Sunderland way. Not sure who got the best out of the Rodgers deal Swansea or Liverpool my money is on Swansea so far.
And no Lucas either. Out till November. http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php
