    Morning Everyone,

Today could be a very important day in our history. Its make or break, either the takeover happens today (as to the best of my knowledge transfers of monies cannot occur at weekends???), or the buyers pull out. If indeed the buyers do pull out, the truth WILL come out as to why the takeover did not proceeed. This will undoubtably put even more pressure on Bates.

Who thinks it may happen??? :emoticon-0100-smile

Chuck (Norris) will be out for four weeks with a knee injury. Thoughts, who will take his place?

Aidan White won his ninth Republic of Ireland under 21 cap on Thursday night as they bowed out of the qualification for the 2013 finals in Israel.White was substituted in injury time as Ireland lost 2-1 in Hungary.

No game tomorrow <wah> but what is everyone doing instead?

Lets have a song of the day. Heres a bit of John Parr with Meatloaf with rock and roll mercenaries. Who remembers it?

    Good morning<ok>

    Takeover? What takeover?

Who thinks it may happen? Well see above<ok>

I think Brown will take his place, letting Austin play in a more free role. Like the way we played Oxford<ok>

It will be international football today and the rest of the weekend it will be work, work, work :(

Morning Norway, suppose we have to believe, don't we?

Agree with Brown, we need someone to marshall and sit infront of our defence, 10 times better than Graysons, but we leaked 3 goals v Blackburn and 2 against Blackpool.

I have a weekend off work, typical, no club footie....

Morning all. Busy weekend ahead. Wifey's company bash at some posh hotel. It must be posh. She even wants me to wash behind my ears & comb my hair. Sunday I thought I was going to the paralympic closing ceremeony, but Ticketmaster sent us the confirmatiory email by accident. Heyho, quiet afternoon sunbathing (make that gardening) instead.

Norris being out isn't too much of a problem. Gives Brown the opportunity to show what he & Austin can do in CM. Probably our strongest unit.

On the T/O, getting bored with this. Will concern myself cum the January T/W when Warnock may walk, money might come in, and/or we're either in a relegation dog fight or pushing for auto. Hold on to your seats. It's a bumpier ride than usual ahead. Keep the faith. MOT.

Morning all - True the potential buyers might pull out and announce it is a dead deal today but I would prefer that over this continuing into another week, month, transfer window period....

I stopped believing about 48 hours prior to the transfer window closing - anything imminent would have been pushed through, the fact it never happened before that date is poor all round.

The potential new people should have given Bates a deadline, sign in time for us to make a difference by using some spending power in the transfer window or we walk.

My honest opinion is the same as I said in another thread Bates does NOT want to sell.

Let's get the news I expect that it is dead in the water then we can hear why it fell through. Saying that I wouldn't believe anything that Bates spews and I would imagine anyone gaining access to the books, bank accounts and anything else regarding a possible sale will have had to have signed a confidentiality agreement.

Glad in a way that there is no football, gives us another week of treatment for Norris and Green.

Of cause we can believe :) I would love it to be a takeover happening, but I'm not going to set myself up for a huge disappointment<ok>

I don't like the international breaks, it feels like the world have stopped turning <laugh>

Morning all. Don't think I ever had less interest in Internationals. Ireland playing tonight and couldnt care less if we qualify or no.We're rubbish, same as Wales, N Ireland, Scotland and England. Rubbish I say.
As for the takeover, I think it's gonna drag on some more. Not sure if it's a case of Bates not wanting to sell, I think it may be a case of him losing his faculties. How many eighty year old men are running multi million pound businesses on their own. Thats what Bates is doing as he isn't even speaking to his ceo any more. It's a worrying situation because if he carries on, and even had the clubs best interests at heart, which is debatable, I wouldn't trust him to be sharp enough upstairs to make the correct decisions anymore. Remember his heyday in football was twenty years ago and the bulk of the dinosaurs and managers from then are well retired at this stage

Suited & booted? I've had to go to the Albert Steptoe emporium of fine tailoring to get my jacket cleaned. I will, as ever, be the personification of innocence, sobriety, & cleanliness before getting ratar%ed & embarassing the bos with some appropriate singing.

Remind me, what are the words to 7 drunken nights & 4 & 24 vir*ins???

Morning Elland - Is that official as I was under the impression that it was just a whisper that gathered pace. Have the potential buyers set today for a deadline? If so why on earth did they not do this 1 week and 1 day earlier allowing NW a day in the transfer market.

As much as I am pissed off with Bates I am curious and slightly annoyed that these buyers have allowed matters to drag on like this.

    Morning all,

Not really bothered about the international window this time around, though the lack of football this weekend isn't great! There's a pretty high chance I'll be spending tomorrow recovering from some beverages tonight anyway!

On the takeover front, it'd be nice to hear something today, but then I've been saying that for a lot of days now...

Ristac, I suspect it's not the buyers that have allowed this to drag on. They probably wanted to do a deal, but u no hoo maybe holding out for the best deal he can get. He probably feels he doesn't need to sell, so is therefore in no rush. There may also be some shadowy stuff in the background about who owns what & what the potential new buyers would actually be getting.

The buyers should have gave him a deadline, sign by this date or we pull out... At the end of the day, if Bates isn't willing to sell (which I think is the case) it wouldn't matter. If they had given Bates a deadline of 21 days ago before pulling out then I believe things would have been better for all of us. We would have given up the false hope and the fury that would have been unleashed on Bates before the season kicked off would have been immense. This is all playing into Bates hands. The moment the deal is declared dead watch Bates spew drivel about how it held us up in the transfer market.

Remember - The new potential owners wanted Snoddy to stay, they wanted him to run down his contract - Bates sold him, doesn't this show Bates has no intention of selling, specially when you add it to everything else that is going on.

We shouldn't get our hopes up. When did anything this good happen to Leeds United?

But seriously what's the matter with Bates? At age 80, it's not worth the hassle. Just sell up and go sleep on your boat in the Monaco sun, instead of messing around with overseas accounts, Bahranian millionaires and Leeds fans.

Too used to the cash he gets out of it if you ask me mate. I agree completely, you'd think at his age he'd want a simple life, but then again you could have said that for him at 70.

Either that, or whatever he's covering up in the books / companies or whatever is incredibly bad for him if it comes out and he's trying to make sure he's dead before anyone finds out...

    Morning All,

Lots to say this morning, not all of it good.

    1. Just read that Brown has a hammy strain, so bang goes our #1 choice to replace Chuck. Hoping he has time to recover, otherwise we're left with Pugh or Thompson.
    2. I have read nothing anywhere to suggest that today is deadline day. All we know is that we're in endgame & a decision will be made one way or t'other in the next few days.
    3. In loads of movies I watch, cash transfers take lace at any time of the day or night. You just need 2 crooks to do it. Hopefully there's only 1 in this transaction .....
    4. It has occurred to me that if this sale doesn't go through, then LUFC will become unsaleable. Who would deal with the old kunt knowing that serious businessmen had uncovered stuff that made them walk away. Hopefully the old kunt will realise this, or someone will put him right. I'm seriously worried that we'll go into administration if this TO fails.
    5. No game tomorrow? Not a problem. Going up to Jockoland for the match, followed by serios session to blot out the memory of the match. Repeated on Tuesday.

If it fails mate it will be because Bates doesn't want to sell. Agreed who else would want to put an offer in and have their time wasted in this fashion - Probably what Bates is hoping for so he can shout out at how nobody else is coming forward to 'save us'. No administration worries from me, there is plenty of money there, just lining Bates pockets instead of ploughed back into the team.

    Morning everyone :emoticon-0148-yes:

I spent most of yesterday drinking beer and watching cricket in the sun, but as a result today I'm burnt and hungover. The only thing that would cheer me up is confirmation that Bates has sold the club and/or is going home in a big white ambulance.

Please God make at least one of them happen.
