There is a bit of talk about the lack of creativity in our midfield which we all hope Dembele will solve. However, with AVBs love of an attacking midfielder behind a central striker which of the above would you like to have now playing in that role? (Clearly I mean them as they were in their prime not as they are now, post beer etc)

I love them all but would have to pick Hoddle simply because he is my all time favourite - he's the one that got me hooked on footy and spurs whilst I was still at primary school and I could sit and watch videos of him playing all day long. Trying to remember what I think was his last game at the lane which I think  was against oxford and he scored with a cheeky finish after running through the middle of their defence after springing the offside trap near the halfway line :emoticon-0100-smile

I would reckon though that gazza might be more effective in the system we appear to be adopting.

Agreed. In the current system, Gazza just shades it, for me. Hoddle was a master of the long pass. With Gazza you were never sure exactly what he'd do next. But, it was usually something spectacular.

Danny Blanchflower and John White have to be considered

Danny one of the most intelligent mid-fielders of all time and John White (old leather ball mud pack pitches and miners boots) could land the ball on a shilling (5p) over any distance and had the football brain to complete the total player

I'd pick, Hoddle; Waddle; Gazzahh; Ginola and E Davids,.
and then I'd pick myself to be the lone striker..........sort'ed.

Fair enough - did not list others as pre my time so never got to see them.

This is the goal I referred to - I am sure you all know the one I meant anyway! But it's not quite how I described it but magical all the same!

Hoddle just because he's my all-time favourite, but in truth Gazza would probably be better in that position.
