Nothing to stop you getting a Florida plate "EBYGUM" mine is a Pennsylvania plate. Thanks OLM for the info on the Florida "HULL CTY" plate. I have a photo of it. My support goes back to the Raich Carter, Eddie Burbanks, Billy Bly, "Jock" Davison, Viggo Jensen etc., days.
Yardley, you must be up in amish country then, nice part of the world that. Did'nt realise we had that many ex pat tigers out here to be honest do'nt feel quite so alone now. Louisiana is'nt a hot bed of football (soccer) fans, hard to find many interested in the sport down here and very hard to find someone who has heard of Hull City. They have heard of David Beckham and Pele and thats about it for these rednecks
Wish I had known about you all in the PA area, I used to live across the river from DC. We could easily have met up and watched City play at a bar. I dont suppose you cheer for the Hershey Bears? I used to drive up and go to their games all the time.
What part of Florida you in atigerfan? Orlando? I might come over and watch the game against Bristol with you in the pub if you are up for a quick visit. Only an hour and a half from New Orleans on the plane and it's pretty cheap
Hi John, I live just outside Orlando and about 45 minutes from all the tourist stuff. It would be great to meet up. I'm trying to establish if the game will be on live here or on a few hours later. It usually depends on how many premier games are on. It will probably be on Fox Soccer Plus and there are a load of Irish pubs around that show football on match days. I will get back to you as soon as I can confirm the TV schedule.
To all the City fans this side of the pond are you interested in spending a night or two in sunny Orlando? OK not at my house! But maybe one of International Drives hotels. If so I can check out the venues and what alcohol they provide.
Florida would be hard on me, but I can drive anywhere on the west coast for the game if anyone here wants to meet up.
Yardley Tiger and my husband established contact again via this Board last year after losing touch on leaving Riley High School over 56 years ago. They were there for 7 years and in the same class for 6 of them. TigerRoo was there too but a year behind and he and my husband met up on the Hull Mad Board a couple of years ago.
My sister-in-law and her family lived in Hummlestown and they worked for Hershey. They have moved out to the West Coast now. I saw the Hershey Bears a few times when we used to go visiting.
Not quite amish country is about 50 miles west of us, but still we are in nice country. We live almost on the Delaware (river) in Yardley which is just downstream from New Hope and Washington Crossing. I have a season ticket for the Philadelphia Union and our local area has a Soccer Club, YMS (Yardley Makefield Soccer) and we now have a great coaching Director John Greaves whose hometown is Denaby Main, Yorkshire who had coaching staff positions at Leicester City, Barnsley, Notts Forest, Sheffield U. and Brighton ( followed the manager around) before coming over here about 10 years ago. He is ably assisted by David Simpson from Glasgow who is an expert skills trainer especially in the Coerver method. The club has progressed from a "dad coaching son" situation to where we had a team become National Champions in Phoenix in 2011.
We have visited Lititz while staying at our friend's B & B in Churchtown. Even eaten lunch several times at the General Sutter Inn. I have done a survey of threads so far and we have at least 18 Not606 contributors to the American Tigers Supporters List. Everyone listed please feel free to add/correct the list. Not 606 NAME/LOCATION John Firth/Louisiana American Plastic/Ohio(?) Canadian Tiger/Vancouver, BC Eric/Arizona Brian/New Jersey Greene/Houston, Texas Peaksey/Toronto ONT Toledo Tiger/Toledo, Ohio Trav/Virginia A Tiger fan/Orlando/ Florida WSTiger/Washington State Ellewoods/California Columbus Tiger/Columbus, Ohio "Daughter of GREENE"/Tennessee Roary Glory/Vancouver, BC Yardley Tiger/Yardley, PA Carolina Tiger/Carolina Oregon Tiger/Cambridge, Oregon I am sure there are also other Tigers Supporters who do not contribute to Not606. In fact I know of an old school friend who is a Tigers supporter and now lives in Calgary, Alberta.
Carolina Tiger, who was in Carolina, is actually called Brian and I think he's now in New Jersey, so Brian/New Jersey and Carolina Tiger/Carolina, might actually be one and the same.
Canadian Tiger is CANADATIGER and lives on Salt Spring Island, BC...just been over to watch the Brighton, Charlton, and Bolton games (2 wins 1 draw ) and been watching the Tigers since 1948 (born in Hull).
I'm no longer in the USA. I moved back to blighty a few years ago but kept the name I adopted when this interweb thingy started up.
In case you all were wondering they replied to my email and it seem they do not have an American branch. They did say that it has been suggested before but nothing ever came of it.
We don't have a USA branch unfortunately. List of branches You guys should consider setting one up though. There's plenty of you out there.
I can confirm that CANADATIGER was at the Brighton game cos him and his lovely wife were sitting next to me
