We have to encourage developement of a home grown goalie so good news for Blackman! Poor old Hilario, been around for ages and hardly had a game! When he has been there he hasn't really let us down
Ive spoken to Hilario on the phone, he called my place of work to get a repair done on some fitness equipment in his home gym and I booked the appointment for him, at the end I said "Are you the Enrique Hilario that plays for Chelsea?" and he said "sigh....yes" as if he had been busted lol Then I had a chat with him, told him I was a Chelsea fan, I remember that it was a Friday and we were playing Villa at the Bridge the next day, and I wished him and team good luck, funny thing was, Hilario was playing at the time cos Petr was injured. This was about 2 years ago I think.
He and Paulo are excellent pro's who a lot of the younger players can learn from. Excellent attitude,train well and never moaning.
Agreed, but there is another way of looking at it. Ie Winston Bogarde. On our books for like 5 years and made less than 40 appearances or something like that. Was being paid about 40k p/w to sit on his behind. so you do have to question their hunger and ambition, its like when Cech came and Cudicini had to be sold, I liked Carlo and he was a great keeper, but you just knew that he was too good to be a number 2. You have to find a number 2 keeper that is good enough to do the job but not too good as to attract attention for other clubs, thats what I think we have in Hilario.
