Opinions are like ar$eholes......everyone has one and they all stink! Also online forums are a place where people can write what they please without any repercussions....except maybe a superficial ban, to which they can create a new account and carry on as before.
The bizarre thing is that we all support the same team! I could understand it if it were an open team forum.
Doesnt matter buddy.....I find in general most people HATE having their opinions questioned and can get aggressive...this rings true for all forums, not just football forums. One of the reasons I stayed away from here for a bit and joined VitalQPR....only to find that they were a bit too boring for me
Well I had a go at trying to calm the situation down, but was probably a little too late and the damage was already done. Shame, as the thread was a good read. Personally, whilst there is clearly a need for everyone to get the gossip and find out what happened, in my opinion these type of threads just add to the situation and give it more attention that it deserves. Someone got annoyed with someone else over a debate about football...hardly shocking. The behaviour and posts were in bad taste and the thread was closed and appropriate action taken. Move on, nothing to see here...lets get back to the footie In other news, Derry is staying put for now
It shouldn't be that easy. I used to live with a moderator on another forum which ran on the same system this one does. IP Addresses can be blocked and the use of proxies or Tor can be easily spotted not that either would be necessary in the cases that we are dealing with here. Personally I can't be bothered to post any more as everything I write gets contested in an aggressive and obsessive manner by the same poster: Swords. I've had enough of it and would rather be "bullied off the board" than argue with the malicious troll. The mods of course have an impossible task and have my respect.
Whilst I am sorry to hear that you feel you need to leave Imaz, could you not just ignore Swords if he is the only reason for your potential departure?
I'm not making excuses for Queenslander but this all went off just after lunchtime which down under is pub chucking-out time, I got the impression he'd had a few the way his posts were going and that the antagonism was the type you get in that situation in a pub. Whatever the reason it was out of order and ruined a 'well-contested' thread...
I was recommended to come on this forum after becoming disillusioned with the last I was on. Genuinely beginning to wish I had never bothered.
