The key issues seem to be whether Griffiths is fit and if Fletcher will play 4:4:2 or something more defensive away from home. If Griffiths is fit, I suspect hopes will be high, which may be putting quite a lot of weight on his shoulders considering his 20 minutes of League experience!

Griffiths's previous goals to games played ratio is outstanding even for non-league football......regarding his injury it looks like he might of come back too early and aggravated it.

His career record does not suggest that he is an injury prone player....maybe the step up to fulltime pro training has pushed his 32 year old body a little too hard to start with.

There is too many injuries occuring at present...is it down to bad luck...or does the training or warm up process need tweaking a little ?

Injuries are common at this time of year. I don't suppose Griffiths was intended to come on at half-time - maybe the last 15 minutes only. Let's hope he felt the injury coming and went down before it got bad.

I can't see Fletcher starting Griffiths on Saturday even if he is theoretically fit - it's not worth the risk. Anyway, I think he'll start defensively: 4:5:1 or something similar. He won't want to be 2-0 down after 20 minutes like we were against Oxford. Back 5 picks itself, so does Bhasera so I expect it will be a pretty similar starting 11 to Saturday, injuries permitting.

Isn't Bhasera absent on international duty this weekend? I thought I'd heard that somewhere and if he is then he will be a miss if he could keep up last times efforts. I've not heard what extent Griffiths problem is so don't know the score. He sat down for a few minutes and was ignored by everyone one the field. Then got up and trotted back to help defend a corner and when job done sat down again. He looked a bit limpy running back to do the corner but it didn't look career threatening. Fingers crossed.

I think Fletcher will try the old defensive thing again. I wish he wouldn't and would just go for a result. We don't do defending for 85 minutes out of 90 very well and Torquay aren't rubbish. To answer AWAYINBC's question I won't be going as I just don't do away matches. No doubt there will be plenty who do though and I would expect it to be a sell out. We could have done with an easier game to follow up last Saturday but I guess you have to play who you play. A point this time would be a decent result although 3 would be better than lovely.

Think I read somewhere Griffiths sub was more precautionary than recurrence of injury but that might just be wishful thinking on my part.
4-2-3-1 would be my starting preference. As for starters back 4 sorted then really is down to fitness Griffith/Feeney and then Macca on the right, Gor/Gurr in for Bhas. I would like to see Simms in the pocket behind the single striker but this may not be the game to try that so PCH/LeCointe/Chad with Houri and Young holding. Wotts to the bench for me but think he will start.

I hope you're right with Griffiths mexijan. Would be good to see him get a run in the side to see what he can really do. Stop start isn't what we need. Sad to say it for me but I hope Chadwick stays injured because he has been bleddy useless so far. I don't want to see him anywhere near the pitch whilst we have other options. This match is going to be one tough test though.

Thanks for all your comments...look forward to Sat.

To change the subject..i did see a news clip of a mother bear trying to get into a garbage bin..it turns out her cubs were inside..humans to the rescue..
a pick up truck with someone in the back with a ladder...the truck backed up to the bin and he dropped the ladder into the bin..mother bear watched from a safe distance...the 3 bears climbed the ladder then dropped down to mamma...all was well..

    Wasn't that a nice story...

Quite right Sensible, Bhasera is away on international duty.

A shame for us as it would have been good to have continuity after 2 decent performances.

The style and quality in that torquay team, I think we need to nab that bears cubs again and drop her into the torquay players dressing room to get something. Problem with starting with 1 up top is that only griffiths seems capable of holding the ball up and keeping possession in the green. I do quite like having chadders in that sort of role cause he does ok as an aggravator of defenses and keeper with physical presence.

God I hope griffiths is fit. Feeno did well sat but we're not going to achieve much relying on him upfront. Would like to see macc up top perhaps with Gorman on wing.

Can't see us doing 3 up front get your jiggle and certainly not against Torquay. Feeney as a loan striker just doesn't work and never has. If everyone in the stands can see it doesn't then surely Fletcher must after all this time. Griffiths totally released him from the normal roll and as a consequence he looked better for once. We must have two up front but I suspect we won't.

Well this is the moment of finding out what our chances are for this season....Torquay away....one of the form teams of Div 2 last year.

The problem is which team will we be able to put out.......I know it is early days to be able to judge the worth of Rhys Griffiths but at present he is the difference between chalk and cheese or black and white.....a lot of pressure to put on the shoulders of someone who has only played 20 odd minutes of league football, although he has years of success at a lower level.

It was so evident from reports from many sources that he has got the touch to lead the line, make chances for others and score goals himself.

If we can also get Lowery fit and keep him fit he could be the missing link in the build up of defence into goal scoring attack.

So if Griffiths is playing Saturday anything could happen....if it has to be Feeney or Chadwick we will do extremely well to get a point.

Maybe Fletcher next week will find an attacking mid-fielder, when the loan window opens to off-set the loss of Lowery for two more months.

I must admit that I feel this team could be better than Fletcher is able to make them play at present....you wouldn't expect me to say anything else would you !!!

We had a poor result against Oxford with bad goals conceded, possibly with Purse carrying an injury and without first-pick full backs. Since then, we've had a creditable narrow defeat at Burnley and a victory against Northampton to go with a first Saturday draw away at Dagenham.

I'm not totally convinced by Fletcher but this is a new squad and I think it's a bit early to see an away local derby against a team presently in the top-half as a make-or-break.

Over time, we certainly should have high expectations for Argyle in this league but I think this coming Saturday a draw would be a decent result.

It is also the beginnings of a squad assembled by said ´clueless´ manager, for next to nothing, and which has yet to play together due to injuries. One really bad result first game of the season, horrific defending and soft penalty, then a really bad performance which we pinched a draw from. Since then team seems to be improving with players coming back from injury and a bit more time together, so for me until we have the whole squad complete, still maybe a loanie or 2, and can get a steady team out I will be giving our manager a bit more time. Still not fully convinced however I will at least give the guy a chance.

For next to nothing...i agree MEXIJAN the team really hasn't had much time playing together..i keep thinking of last weeks second half..
if they can keep playing like that they will be ok and the fans will be entertained...

May i ask..where are you in Mexico..
