The Prince Harry one is pretty good. At the opening ceremony of the paralympics:
'One's not invited so I am sat here drinking granny's gin...... naked.'

The BBC are broadcasting a live NFL game every Monday night. This pleases me.

Sadly, none of them involve Tampa.

Do you know what the first one is?

The first one this coming Monday is actually a double header. It's Cincinatti @ Baltimore, followed by San Diego @ Oakland.

You see, this is what makes it hard to get into. Especially when they drag a 1 hour game out over 3.5 hours...

I'll never be into that sport. I've tried my best, but I can't enjoy a 4-hour programme with about 15 minutes of actual action. So dull.

Sorry, can't agree. It would be close if they didn't stop every six seconds in Gridiron, because the actual play can be quite good. I know that in Rugby the ball can get stuck in rucks or the scrum, but it's not even close to Gridiron.

American Football is quite tactical. Rugby just involves running headlong into a big crowd of players, because that's clearly the best way to get past people rather than, you know, trying to avoid them! Also it has quite a few stoppages, I watched a quarter and a bit of the last Super Bowl and the stoppages didn't really affect it is badly as one would think.

I agree that it's about strategy and trying to feel out your opponents weaknesses, then exploiting them. Admittedly at it's worst, it is incredibly tedious to watch, but they do know how to do spectacular there too.

Thats as bad a simplification as me saying that Gridiron is about one guy lobbing a ball 50 yards forward for a fast guy to catch while all the other players wrestle with each other. Rugby is hugely tactical. Of course, you are (probably) English, which explains why you think Rugby is all about running into people. The nations who are actually good at Rugby (New Zealand, France, Wales) realise that running around players is a much better way to win games.

While we are (vaguely) on the topic of American Football... which I personally love as much as Rugby or 'Soccer' (which is A LOT), are there any Baseball fans on the forum? I ask as a quasi-American and devout follower of the New York Mets. (I am also a NY Jets fan, these choices of rubbish teams are based purely on geographical proximity.)

Can you remind me when Wales or France last won the Rugby World Cup? Wales have NEVER made the final. England have on 3 occasions(winning one) France twice.
