Last couple of pre seasons have been woeful. Probably the one before that as well!

    What are we doing wrong?

Why was Sess' given extra time off? Gyan got the same treatment the year before. Both are no where near fit at the start of the season.

Maybe I'm just frustrated with our stop start start.

sess was injured mate - not much to be done about that! Not too sure on gyan... maybe that was Brucies infamous "bedding in period" which no other foreign players seem to need? lol

Whats been wrong with our start to the season, 2 hugely difficult away games and a home cup game and we remain unbeaten.
A great start to the season.

And that is before we have started to play well. To hit the ground running as it were you need all the players in and fit for warm up games! How MoN chooses the tactics and team is going to be interesting. A back four then Catts and Colback as a DM two, with Johnston, Sess and McClean in an attacking three, and Fletcher up front. Whatever formation he chooses it will take a while to bed down!

My thoughts exactly...Two cracking away draws against difficult opposition is OK by me..

Looks to me like we are getting better by the game so nothing wrong with our pre-season. We all know about Fletcher not being fit, and to a lesser extent Sessegnon.
What it does prove is the old adage of pre-season being about fitness not results. Remember The Skunks being done six something by Leyton Orient prior to their Championship season and then gaining promotion at the end of it?

I wasn't too chuffed with the results pre season but Mon didn't seemed fazed and when its actually mattered we've gotten three good results. That would have been four if not for the rain I reckon

Two draws at 2 difficult venues and into the next round of the cup with total ease. Our new star striker has 2 goals on his league debut.

I think we would have beaten Reading so could have had 5 points and We haven't hit 3rd gear yet.

    What's not to like?

On the Sess not playing, my thoughts are Mon told him to go away for the whole summer, have a good think about whether he really wants to be hear and then come back with a decision.

He just signed an extension to his contract without any fuss or debate.
Brilliant management by Mon imo and further evidence of the man's massive worth to us.
