Why is everyone being so negative? The gap between the two sides is very small, if there is one. Since NA has come in and settled, our form has only just been marginally worse than Brighton, and with our defence on form we can snuff out Seagulls, and we have more than enough firepower to cause them problems People saying we are going to get thrashed is absolutely ridicilous, the only way that would happen is if we had a really bad off day. Lallana is back too, and Guly has already showed he is capable of stepping up to the plate when barnard is out, so keep the faith. COYR!
Need to win tomorrow to take the pressure off a little. I think we can edge it. 4-0 to the Saints then. Oh and would it be possible to reverse the size of the badges at the top of the thread please?
Ambitious 2-1 win for saints. Adam Lallana will have a good game i think. Probably dying to be out there and play again ! Brighton do have the quality for League 1, we will just have to wait to see how they fair in the championship.
Really excited for this game, hopefully it'll be good and open between what should be the best two teams in the division (tip of the cap to Huddersfield mind). I'll take a draw, and obviously be ecstatic if we come away with all 3 points. The first goal could be absolutely crucial. Just looked at the statistics, and when scoring first... Brighton Played 27 Won 23 Drawn 3 Lost 1 Saints P 21 W 17 D4 L0 Let's hope our never losing when scoring first record gets kept rather than Brighton's unbeaten at home! COYS!
St Johns Ambulance could be busy today, it is going to be hot and as I understand it, our fans will have no shade, so slap on the sunblock people or it could be even more uncomfortable than it already is. I have to work a late shift and concentration is going to difficult until after the game. Come on Saints do us a big favour today, please.
Gobern, well this is his big chance to show us he can do it. He's looked good coming off the bench, and looking at the team-sheet I suppose we're playing 4-5-1?
Sounds pretty much exactly how I thought we would play. 3 midfielders in the centre, with 2 wide players pushing forward to link up with Lambert. So pretty much 4-5-1 when we don't have the ball, and 4-3-3 when we do. Only thing that is different is that I thought it would be Stephens in there ahead of Gobern, and Lallana out wide instead of Forte.
Few options on the bench then: Lallana, Connolly and N'Guessan if things aren't going our way. To anyone with more Brighton knowledge than me, is that a full strength XI for them?
If saints took their chances like Hudders and Brighton we would be a lot higher. Hudders only had 2 shots in the first half yesterday and were 2-0 up. We've had equal shots with Brighton and we are losing. I'm not surprised. I will be seriously pissed off if we don't go up auto. We have thrown away so many chances.
Hmmmm. 1-0 down. Let's hope we can break the "first scorer wins" habit that both teams have adopted. Interestingly, John Solako says Saints have 70% posession and are dominating whereas 606 says Brighton have 60% posession. Why is Lallana on the bench? COYS
**** knows. If he's fit enough to be on the bench, I'd play him. It's harder to make an impact from the bench when we are already behind.
Why do you think? One has to assume that he's still not fit. And in that case, I don't want us to bring him on. We've already taken a gamble with him for the last 15 mins against Rochdale and that backfired. Not again. Hartlepool in 48 hours time, and the three games that follow that are all just too important to be without Adam.
Deary me... That's no way to keep a clean sh*t, is it Jaidi? Let's hope Brighton continue to play badly and Lallana comes on and saves us. I hate it that the footballing gods save all the injuries and costly f*ck ups for us until the run in.
