Kicking him would do it, he doesnt like physical football so Id tell the team to take turns in having a go at him.

Yes definitely. Think we need players like him to open up PL defenses and creates chances. Plus he is exciting to watch! I'd prefer Traore at LB as well against a wekaer team, but Fabio looks a bit better defensively to me so I'd go with him against the Scum, with a very offensive front 4.

Why? it's just a standard 4 2 3 1, but I'm trying to show Adel lying a bit deeper centrally where he would have the opportunity to open up the opposition and provide bullets, and work defensively with Granero and Ale.

Although I'd swap around Cisse and Zamora.

That would be a 433 then, Bobs post is a 4231.

I'd go with either one of these depending on Diakite's availability, probably swaying towards Silent Bob's team as I agree we'll need to have a strong presence in the middle of the pitch... one thing's for sure, that back line is the one for me.

The fans need to get onto Hazard's every mistake. It happened last year with Mata who was largely discomforted by the home fans calling him every name under the sun as he was about to take a corner. Our atmosphere will certainly boost our players performance and hopefully knocking them. I'd like to see us really go at Chelsea as David Luiz and Gary Cahill are so suspect at the back and we could really give it a go.

Yes, that would work fine too - we need to be more fluid up front than we been this season at least, apart from perhaps the first 20 minutes against Swansea after which it looks like we been shell shocked into rigidity.

People putting Granero in CDM?? He plays as an attacking creative midfielder....he would be as useful as a chocolate teapot in CDM.

Why not?! If M'bia is going to play CB as I guess he must, Diakite is probably away, and Derry isn't his class, we are lacking a CDM. I think Granero will be brilliant there alongside Ale. I read that he functions best behind a creative midfielder, and that he functions well all over midfield. Seemed like he could too from what we saw Saturday.

I dont think we will play 4231 until Diakite is back, he cant then partner Faurlin leaving Granero to play further forward.

Why not? Becuase he isnt a CDM....he is far to lightweight and his strength lies in his creative and attacking flair.....not his ability to defend, tackle and cover the defensive line.....

Im really hoping Diakite will be back for the Chelsea game....but I can imagine he wont be.

Definetley feel Granero would be wasted and mildly useless in CDM.

MMaybe this without Diakite or you can swap adel for Cisse.

    --------------Faurlin-------------

Granero is probably tougher than Ale, and in the defensive midfield 2, he will be setting up attacks too. I like your formation as well, but I'd play Cisse who is quick, and could score, not Park who is slow and probably will not score, and then we'd be looking weak defensively in midfield. So I'm back to moving Granero back a bit with Ale to make a defensive midfield 2. I think Ale and Granero could form a top quality midfield base for us.

Fair enough....to be fair ill reserve judgement until I see him played in the role......I just thought he looked far too lightweight.....but I could be wrong.

We shall see....allthough im not even here for the Chelsea game....im on holiday :(

The beauty of the strength we now have in the squad is that we will never agree. The days of a best 11 are gone. It will now be much more about assessing the opposition, looking at negating their strengths whilst seeing what we want to achieve. Form and fitness will also effect selection which is why we need to trust in MH. He won't be thinking one game at a time but will have plans around future opponents, cup matches etc. Thats the luxury a squad provides! Makes things interesting to debate but we must remember MH will have a wider view than our snapshot.

Indeed....if we the fans cant pick our starting 11, that also means the opposition cant which hopefully makes us less predictable.

Cheers Oslo. Not a pretty sight and definitely best resigned to the dustbin of things that never happened.
