just came in and read this post, the three main culprits have already been mentioned by Cest, i have indeed a few of these mags like qwop, sombie, and quite a few others on my friends list, however the skunks in question always start it with, fool or idiot, when you are replying to a fellow mackems post, this behaviour would not be tolerated on the mags board so why should their wumming be tolerated here.
thats the answer but it wont work, there are those who enjoy the argument and others who don't and one man's wum is another man's banter. I have had and have seen, useless mods letting them on useless power mad mods banning people. commo is spot on, dammed if you do and dammed if you dont.
I like the yellow card / red card scenario as it gives all posters a one off rant without being banned. I am happy for this to include Sunderland fans as well (especially me) as it will calm everyone down but I do think it has to start with the permanent removal of the 3 biggest culprits mentioned to start with (one of them just above for example just cant help himself to mock and ridicule and spoil) with their IP address noted to stop them returning on the Sunderland board. Once they are gone, then good mag supporters will be able to enjoy good banter with good Sunderland fans again, without any of the abuse. If I transgress I will happily take a yellow or a red. I don't want to kill the banter just ensure that there is an honest environment, as the BBC606 site had, that allowed heated debate but stopped the ****ers.
To be honest it would be better if Newcastle fans were like me and just came on for a bit of banter, and to talk football, and weren't always on the wind up. Having said that, it entirely defeats the purpose of a 'multi club forum' as such. There are plenty of Sunderand only forums which would seem to be far better suited to you all, surely you would be happier there? Why not join Syd's forum and see out your forum posting days in a mag kernt craa free utopia? I don't see how you can ban people without breaking the rules of the forum.
Don't think anyone has a problem with mags contributing to the board. But when they make over 300 posts in a couple of days in the Sunderland section without visiting their own teams board that it goes beyond contributing and turns into disruption. That cretin doesn't contribute anything worthwhile to the board, just abuse/spammy obsession and causes way too much agro. Which is the only reason he is here. Admins should just get their finger out and ban the kid.
Why is he even allowed here, the child is clearly mentally unstable. Agree with Cest it has gotten beyond funny or Wumming this is a deliberate concerted effort by the 3 individuals mentioned to disrupt. Some Trolls can be funny, some WUM's can be funny. But they usually hit and run. This isn't about free speech it is about punishing children who are clearly out of control. This isn't about stopping Mags it is about stopping any individual whose only interest is disruption. The constant drip of these 3 is like Chinese water torture. Their whole outlook seems to be, to aggravate not participate, the worst kind of troll who should be banned straight away.
I support free speech. I do not care who comes on as long as it is not racist or totally offensive. If a WUM comes on, ignore them completely. If all proper fans ignore them and keep doing it, they will get fed up. Just skip the idiotic posts and carry on with the rest of the thread. Showing you are affected by their nonsense is just what they want.
MR, He is getting banned. His IP will be tracked, and if he pops up on this forum, we'll look at blocking his IP, and therfore the whole forum. Again, this decision has been made due to PM's received, this could have all been smoothed earlier had people taken up this option when ogfered several weeks ago.
It wasn't taken up mate because this has become a last resort to save this forum. There would never be any such problem if the 3 main culprits ie Obertan, Chiek/chappaz (or whatever he is now) and John Humble were permanently banned from the Sunderland board. The other mags are more easy to have some good piss takes and banter with and offer what we all want. A good forum to discuss football not all the other crap and I do appreciate you have a hard job but the right decisions are now being made for the benefit of all participants here.
quinneristops, with respect - I don't think you really come on here often enough to see the impact of these individuals - read this thread and the others and you will see how it impacts upon genuine contribution
It became a last resort because only ONE SAFC poster bothered PMing us and putting his views across Cest.
My honest opinion Mons, is this should be an open discussion not a PM. PM's are for niggles, enquiries and personal messages. This problem has got to a point where it needed to be discussed openly not behind closed doors and everyone's opinion discussed democratically. If the majority had wanted them to stay and continue with the way the forum was degenerating then I'd have accepted that and left permanently myself as it has been a poor place to discuss Sunderland football matters for some weeks now. It hasn't been enjoyable in a period where we should have been enjoying life as a Sunderland fan. Hopefully now with these 3 bell ends removed, we can get back to where it was some time ago again and a bloody good place to tune into for footy stuff. I happily include the mags that contribute good stuff in that as well such as sombrero and QWOP.
Sorry but I think the best way to go is for alot of ppl on here to grow up. Dont want to sound patronising but to many egos on here. I bet there are many members like myself who dont post much cos we just get drowned out by the constant bickering.
The idea is to make it better for you to post without EVERY post being hijacked and spoiled Tiz. Its not egos that have ruined the site, its 2 or 3 mags (or plastic mags) intent on destroying every sundelrand post and spoiling the debate to give themselves a hard on. You always have interesting things to say (well most of the time anyway LOl) and I look forward to reading more of them now hopefully, even if we disagree on a lot of things.
