....for about 12-15 million, why not put in a cheeky bid for Leighton Baines?

Nah , Everton will know we have the money and will slap a ridiculously high price tag on him prompting City to buy him.

    Watch this space.

    1. It would be a sideways step, not forward. Everton would want at least 15mil for him.
    2. He'll be on about 80k a week.
    3. He seems happy at Everton.

Those cheeky bids are certainly handy. I propose a cheeky bid for that Messi lad. I mean it would probably have to be REALLY cheeky, but, if we slap a big sticker of the cheeky girls on the request, how can they resist?

I'm pretty sure that I saw something a few months ago about how Everton are financially ****ed... I'll try to find it.

They have got financial worries, but they see a Baines sale as the solution, so they will want a lot.

I'd rather play Ferguson next season.

Would be really overpriced, but worth it if we didnt spend any more than we received for Enrique. Would rather make a profit and go for Taiwo or M'Bengue if they have Carr's seal of approval.

Yeah Everton would have to sell ANY player should a good offer come in. Financially they can't do anything without selling, only question is would Baines come

Enrique is a cracking LB, as I'm sure you all know. Is there any chance that you can keep hold of him, or is the writing on the wall that he'll be gone in the summer?

We could still keep him, he hasnt specifically said he wants to leave. Both he and Pardew have said they will discuss a new contract when safety is guaranteed (so 2+ points) so we should know for sure before the end of the season.

Thanks for the update Smudger. I think most clubs would have him in their team, because for me in terms of abilty, he is one of the best LB's in football ATM. If you can keep hold of him it will be a massive coup for Pardew who I rate as a very good manager.

I never wish injuries on players, but do hope that if Enrique is still with you next season, that he's serving a suspension when we come to visit! <whistle>

Patrick Van Aanholt (don't know if its spelt right)

He was a good replacement while he was here, albeit for only a month, he is only young and doesn't seem to be getting in the team for Chelsea.

Didnt Ryan Bertrand (their other LB prospect) play ahead of him the other day?
