Spoke to a bloke in the pub today who seemingly had some inside knowledge. I asked him what he knew about the Diakite situation and he said that he couldn't tell me (not sure why) what the problem was but that he thought that he would be out for a long time. Gutting news if true. Anyone know anything?
No I'm not. It may be rubbish but he was not a complete chancer. He had been to the u21 games recently and was obviously a fanatic supporter. I'm only raising this because he is such a good player and will be sorely missed if out for a period of time.
something's def not right with diakite. he looks a shadow of the player we saw at the end of last season.
We do seem to get our fair share of players with problems, don't we? There was Clarke Carlisle and the sauce, Taarabt and his tantrums, Joey and his, well... being Joey. Now Diakite. Hope it gets sorted soon and we have the player back we saw in the second half of last season.
So when he missed the latter part of last season with a "virus" it raises the question why did we sign him? Knowing that he struggled personally and still spending a considerable amount on bringing him here. It seems very probable to me that what he struggles with now and last season are connected. Why did we sign him with such risk? Was there a clause that got activated when he was on loan and we had to sign him? I'm not blaming the lad, I feel for him and hope from the bottom of my heart that he resolves his issues. Just asking a sincere question.
I think you may be jumping to conclusions Norway. Apparently he is back in France, sounds like this is family related.
He's suffering from depression. It was mentioned that it had something to do with a death in his family,it's grim times in Mali.Just hope he gets the treatment he needs quickly and can come back soon!
Thanks for considered responses. Swords I found your response a tad rude but am willing to give you a chance. Good luck.
