Sky just said that Chelsea are subsidising a huge part of his wages to allow him to go to West Ham on loan but that those wages were £90,000 per week. How the **** can a player like him command that kind of wage?

No wonder football is looked upon as a crazy, crazy industry.

At least with the 50% tax rate £45k/week goes to sub the country's debt :)

    Cheers Roman, ya mad bastard....

Just made basically the same comment on Twitter. Captures the madness of top level football. No way it can be justified.

Overpaid players are footballs disease. The huge clubs need a player and meet his demands out of desparation then he can sit back for the length of his contract on easy street. Moving him on becomes the problem of the receiving club but they take him for the same reasons as the original club. A case in point is Berbatov, 30mil 4 years ago, 4mil now - but what are his wages for such a small fee. Obviously more than Fiorentena were going to pay him.

Still, he can kiss the FFC badge when he scores.

I am ****ing staggered by this. £4.7m per year for a slightly better than ordinary player. Think about it lads.

If I shake my heed anymore it will fall off. Lol

Music industry is the same though, some absolute ****e get paid loads just because of who they know.

In football talent helps but as you can see with Yossi agents can make some mind boggling deals happen. Possibly there was another player with the same agent that Chelsea wanted at the same time?? its all dodgy as fook, I am sure panorama are working on another program about bungs and I am willing to bet some of the usual suspects get found out.

Wasn't he at le Arse last year? How can a player as average as him have been to Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, wonder how many apps he has in total from them clubs.

£92k a week, time for the working class to be let in free! Absolutely staggered that an average premier league player can kiss a badge and benefit to this extent, when I think of the some of the talent I've seen in years gone by that were paid a pittance - I'm not annoyed but mystified was to who can value their 'talent' to this level ???
