I'm not sure if Gus is the type of manager to get him playing (like DJ did) but he must see that he is drinking in the last chance cafe.

I would of loved to have him instead of HH much better player if he can sort his attitude out imo.

Not for me, I was a big fan of Jay but once he had is England call up his attitude and form both took a dive.

    My apologies ladies and DJR.

DJR - what is coming through on Twitter about us today? Nothing much anywhere else and Malky has gone some way to quashing rumours about Bellers and Turner.

Nicky Maynard deal still to be finalised.

As mentioned from other outlets, highly unlikely there will be anymore business at #CCFC today

Talk is we may be looking to get a couple of defenders in the loan window.

If we can't get Maynard I'd have a stap at kenwyne jones from stoke or Cameron jerome

That was rumoured about Betty a couple of weeks ago. He needs regular cuddles from DJ to help his confidence.

I think Jerome and Jones will be on much higher Prem wages than Maynard, Jones especially who has followed the dollar in recent years. He does have a very good goals per game record though and would do a great job in the Championship of his attitude was right.

    who kenwyne jones? jerome?

if so kenwyne was on about £60k at sunderland <yikes> and took a 'cut' to about £40-50k at stoke, he aint going anywhere! as for jerome, no, just no.

bothroyd is a 29-30 year old footballer, this isnt a nursery ffs, how pathetic is it that a player getting multi millions cant perform unless under jonesy <laugh>

    his record suggests otherwise:

    2006–2011 Birmingham City 181 games (37) goals
    2011– Stoke City 25 games (4) goals

yes some of those games were in the premiership but 41 goals in 206 games is 1 in 5, a shocking return on a £4m or so transfer fee.

I think that's a shrewd move by DJ, who seems to get the best out of him, proven at this level and I think and hope he does a job for them; I still like jay a lot and thank him for his time with us, but we have moved on and if we complete the Maynard signing will be a match for anyone in this division..

Couldn't disagree more, HH has proven himself in the Premier league for years, he scored more goals in the Premier last year than Betty has in his entire career. 9 goals on 16 starts. HH everyday of the week for me.
