A risk off too many strikers?..Though I assume we must go 442 now. Malky has not shown much off a tendency to rotate, so there may be some unhappy campers as the season progresses. Maynard is really saying "I want to go to play football....so you better play me." I wonder what promises he will get?

Dont think we have too many strikers. Cb and Smith are wingers more than centre forwards. HH is 35 and has always been quite brittle so a 46 game season looks long for him. Earnie and Rudy aren't good enough to play in an Auto chasing team. Velikonja (I don't think I've spelt that the same way twice yet!) is totally unknown and will surely need at least a season to find his way around English football. The only one I worry about is Joe, but to this point he has been playing his way into contention. If he keeps scoring and playing well when given the chance he'll make himself hard to leave out.

Maybe Smith is the one player I'm not sure we needed, but the season will tell if that proves to be the case or not.

I think Maynard will be a good signing, balanced against the others made, we have a very strong squad, that's not a divine right for promotion, look at leicester last year, but i think we will certainly have the legs to finish strongly, something we have been lacking in the last... can't wait for sunday... BLUEBIRDS.............

Has he signed yet? Will he be available for Sunday I for one think he'll be a great addition to the club, proven scorer at this level.

MM looks to be going for broke that will be a dodgy thing to do with the amount of big teams in the championship this season. teams to go up i reckon will be sheff weds. leeds at last and possibly wolves...cardiff will probably be between 8th and 10th at best....If Dj was there then you may have had a small chance but with MM then no chance....

yup yet another Jack reborn with a daft name, don't know why he's worried about us, just hope they've kept a few bob for translators with all their foreign players. Now the government have made squatting a criminal offence does this mean they'll have to play elsewhere, imagine a premier league side without a ground

Though this is clearly a wind up, the terrible thing is the Jack may be right. DJ never had anywhere near this amount of cash to spend and got the sack for finishing too often in the top six, but not top two. Finishing in the top six this season would be a real achievement given the amount of cash swilling around at Leicester, Forest, Wolves, Bolton, Blackburn .... blah blah blah. Then throw Leeds (the Warnock factor), Blackpool(still with parachute cash) and Sheff Wed (experienced manager at this level) in to the mix and you have the most competitive Championship ever.

Looks like the Wummers might have been right- his personal demands were so high that a previous move to Leicester fell through (before he went to West Ham). He wants lots of cash, maybe too much.

His choice, sit on bench at WHAM, if he's lucky, and pocket lots of dosh or come to us, get a bit less dosh, play regularly and show he is a good footballer. Cost of living a lot lower here than in London. The lad needs to see the bigger picture or perhaps his agent needs pointing in the right direction - like 150 miles away from Cardiff.

We still have a little time to go, it may still happen, if not, we can always strengthen further in the loan market, we look quite formidable anyway. I don't think we should be held to ransom, but for me it's Maynard’s loss if he does not decide to join the bluebirds premiership charge..
