Stewart was many people's MotM against Rotherham and looked good against Brighton too. He hasn't played since then. What more can he do? Is this confirmed anywhere?
He played against Donny as a right wing back (which to be fair isn't his forte) and didn't have the greatest of games. Personally I'd like to keep him as I think he will get back to the form he was in when we had him originally.
Hopefully that means we asked for more than Burnley wanted to pay based on his form at the end of last season and they said only if we can try him first. Gives us a bit of cash for the loan, and then if he rediscovers his form we get more money than we'd get for a straight perm deal now.
No confirmation anywhere yet but seems to have substance at our end and theirs. Also Leicester and Forest apparently interested!
I dunno if i like sending him out on loan to a team in the same division as us. Especially, when that same team always beat us no matter how well we play.
I don't think we should be selling him at all to be honest, regardless of poor performances he could still turn out to be a fantastic player and I think he should be given another two years to test that possibility, rather than losing him to Burnley for £500k and then them selling him to the likes of Swansea for £4m a year or two later.
We should be keeping him until at least January I reckon, but if we do sell then I at least hope we put in a clause giving us a proportion of any sell-on fee.
He's had more than enough chances and there were a lot of us calling for barmby to drop him last season. I'm pleased its a loan and hopefully he will prove he can sustain a bit of form, I'm not expecting much though.
That's a bit optimistic, saying we'll be selling him to the likes of Swansea. I think they're in for better players then Cam. Still not too sure about this transfer- it could backfire.
Surely it's too early to say because it's dependent on a) how much we're getting, and b) who we could be signing later on?
Surprised at this, not his biggest fan, but we're not overrun with wide options, worth a place on our bench rather then loan to a rival
Based on Cam's potential I think it's stupid. We all know what he can do on his day. And it's left us light on wingers. Unless he Brucey is going to get another winger, 2CM's and a striker in I think its bad news letting anyone go at all, as we look light again on the squad depth
MotM against Rotherham when as a team we were rubbish is hardly anything to write home about. SB obviously hasn't seen enough from him in training for him to be prepared to give him more of a chance. It's a shame because he has looked quality at times, unfortunately he hasn't done it enough in my opinion.
He needed to step up this season and he didnt. His body language was terrible, sulked and threw his arms up in the air when it didnt go right. All the potential was there but doesnt seem to want to put the effort in.
So if we bring in Josh King on loan with a view to buy for £1M in January, and then it turns out the fee agreed with Burnley for Stewart is £2M (which is why they want the loan before committing) is it still a stupid decision?
I don't understand this. I thought the reason we got Elmo was so we had more strength in depth out wide, but that's obviously not the case if we're loaning him Cam out.
Look I get the point you're making. However at this moment in time our squad is very light, and Cameron Stewart is one of our better players even if he isn't showing it atm. Letting a winger go when we are already short of options in that position is in my humble opinion, stupid. What if he rip's it up at Turf Moore? Brilliant I hear you say. We will recall him in January in red hot form. But Would you want to go back to a manager who showed no faith in you after a couple of matches? So what you say we can get a big fee for him!! If the player doesnt want to come back because he's been ****ed about by the manager then Burnley Ultimately hold all the cards. I know thats a lot of ifs and buts. I'm just saying I think brucey could live to regret this. I hope im wrong obviously
this is ridiculous, he goes to burnley and plays good then it makes a rival stronger or he goes plays badly and sits on their bench when we hardly have a large sqaud
