That today might end up being a bit of a damp squib for us?

After a fantastic Friday last week, where all our main pressies were opened, today may just be the stocking fillers to bolster the squad.

Danny Rose is in and I have no feelings either way. Is he good enough? We shall soon see.

Jenas, imo is totally rubbish but Mon has a plan and I'm happy to run with that. If he sees the value then I won't argue.

Dempsey has his heart set on Liverpool. If if comes here it will be with a heavy heart although I would still have him.

Whatever happens lads, let's not lose sight of what has been a terrific summer for us and of the great acquisitions of Saha Cuellar, Johnson and Fletcher. They have improved us massively and we are a far better club now than we were at the end of May.

We can always look again in January.

Then again, he might just surprise us all anyway and come up with a pearler. Lol

If we get JJ we will just have to trust MoN & give JJ a chance.

Danny Rose is a canny player he can play LB & LW he will be Riccos replacement

I must be missing something i actually like Jenas he is solid, gets forward to support the strikers, I think this shows how far Sunderland have come as a club when we are actually not being positive about a player who has played for Champions League club and former England International. MON always seems to have a plan.. have faith and when you sit back and think about it, it is not the dark days of signing mendina, chocolate fireguard et al

still surprised Olsson has not left Blackburn yet

If MoN wants Strinic and will go back for him in Jan or next summer then fine but if not then I am very surprised we have not went for Olsson.

I think Rose will do a decent job for us mind but I don't get the Jenas deal at all, would of rather we had taken a gamble like swansea did on a player like Michu who had just came off a good season in another european league who would add a bit of creativity into the side.

Think he was at villa on loan last season . Didn't play much because he was always injured . He just seems to be one of those players . Its always sad for the player and club . If we do sign him all we can hope is that nobody goes near him on the pitch or he wears a full body armour .

MON first major clanger if we sign Jeans. Every single first team squad central midfielder we have at the club is better than him. A big step backward IMO

He ruptured his achilles in his 1st or 2nd game. A very serious injury, rather than a string of injuries. Word is he has fully recovered from this. At 29 he should be able to get back to full fitness again.

I understand people's worries about him being a crock, but those who are saying he is crap are way off the mark IMO. Hopefully he'll prove you wrong.

I fail to remember one single season where Jenas excelled. At 29 he is a could have been player.

If he comes, and its still an if as far as I can see, I only hope he has a hard hat with him, because if he doesn't perform he will get slaughtered. Fans don't want him so he has a hard task convincing them.

I would love to be proved so wrong with this but imo, he has a heart the size of a gnats testicle.

Jenas beat Rooney to YPotY award in his first full season I recall! He's since went on to become a squad player at Spurs but does pitch in with the odd goal, he was probably negatively influenced by the little rat boy Aaron Lennon and his bling partner Defoe which has had detrimental impacts on his game. A move is probably best for him, otherwise he'll become another David Bentley in no time, decent squad player and if he knuckles down he could end up a very good buy. He also seems to dislike Newcastle which has to be a bonus for you!

Not that it makes any odds now, I think he could still do a job in this division, not at Spurs though, he has no future there.

When was that? 10 years ago? He has achieved nowt since and thankfully we wont be getting lumbered with him.

He is nothiong better than a struggling EPL or championship player at best now. 5 or 6 years ago I'd have welcomed this signing. We've moved on from those days.
