Feeling quite shocked reading your post BB. Glad you're safe. Maybe that move to London might be on sooner than you planned?
A true Northern bloke. Even in the face of severe adversity still had time to care and pick up and save others. My heart goes out to everyone affected and whilst you have the devastation of losing your home thank god you are all safe and well.
jeez mate that's a sorry read, I wish you and your family well ...incredible the news that it hasn't made the headlines too
With everyone else on this - pleased that you and yours are safe and hope that you can get back to some sort of normality soon
Cheers all. To be honest, bordering on euphoric now, you know we're alive, we hear we got everybody, every last person out of our development, and that's amazing. Its still going the fire, seems the Brit press are underestimating it, it was 30km long at one point, I mean, ****! So glad we were able to help people you'd be amazed how many people you can shoe horn in, asides from coughing up some awful black and orange ****, we're ok. Losing stuff doesn't matter , I can buy new stuff, I'll never get that close to death again without dying. Anyway, any news on this left back!
Just saw footage on Sky News, it looks biblical. Thankfully you and yours are ok, fingers crossed everyone comes out of this alright. You have my sympathy and best wishes...good luck!
Jesus MON that is frightening. Sod the stuff as long as you and yours ok. Good luck getting sorted mate.
This is mental Mush, glad to hear you're all safe and you're right about the materialistic things, none of it matters when you've got people's lives on the line.
We're hearing that the damage to the development isn't bad, but I guess they mean structural, gonna head up there now and take a look. Like you say Terry, stuff is worthless to you if your dead!
Really shocked to hear this, glad to hear you are ok though. Bet your other half gets a few extra cuddles today!! xx
Already had a years worth! Just gotta deal with it mate, the fact I'm here typing this is as good as it gets, I'm sat 20km down coast now and it's blue skies and peaceful, but then you can see the water planes and hear the sirens, it's madness. The UK press really haven't taken in how bad it is, your talking a 70km area here
****ing hell man, glad to hear you're OK...Can only echo what everyone else has said, stuff you're clearly well aware of. I dunno about shipping any of my stuff over, but as a consolation I'll let you have a goal in the derby (just one mind, and I want two in return!)
Ha ha, Cheers fella (sort of...), stuffs not a problem, stuff can be bought, assuming the mall's still there like...
F***in hell bro, that is terrifying. there's a bit on it on the BBC but not much really. just glad you got out of there with your missus.
Saw this on news this morning and I did think of you straight away and wondered if it was close. It must have been absolutely terrifying for you both and I am amazed you seem compos mentis on here this morning. Sounds like you were very lucky and thank goodness you realised in time how dangerous it was. There have been wildfires around our place further north too and last time we were there it was a big topic of conversation, but thankfully nothing as bad as this. Hope it's okay to send a virtual hug . As a parent of a child who lives abroad these are the sort of events you have nightmares about, something totally unexpected and out of anyone's control, and where you can't easily go and help. Anyway I am very glad to hear you are all okay; at times like this you realise just how fragile and precious life is.
Glad you and your bird are sound mate. I can imagine how terrifying that would have been, never mind it could be so much worse and Sunderland could have went in for Jenas.....
