Seems he has gone on loan, Perhaps we should have persued that option more strongly seeing as the board are not going to spend much this window.
you have no history which is why he left you in the first place, he wanted a team that won 5 European cups not one. atleast West Ham have a bit of tradition. im happy because this clears our way to activate the £15m buy back clause we activated when we sold N Gog to Bolton idiot Kenny, now he comes back no one will stop us, he will score atleast 30 league goals for us.
Cannot fathom this at all. Finish 5th and still be outbid by newly-promoted teams? I mean, what's the point in bothering at all. Understand frugality, but I'm beginning to feel as though Ashley is abusing the feel good factor and the sway of Graham Carr.
Ignoring the very poor WUM above, I'd say this is a real opportunity missed, we need a Carroll type in our squad as a plan B. Plus he was such a beast for us. Very sad he isn't coming back.
They have offered him fat wages and probably a bit of money to Liverpool too. Clearly motivated by money. Carroll + Nolan x London= Carnage
I haven't posted anywhere for months, but had to get involved in conversation about this. Sure, we might miss out on Debuchy, or Luuk De Jong, but we should never be missing out on this. It's not even permanent, it's a bloody loan deal. For me, the board have question to answer. Balls to last season, Pardew worked miracles to give us a platform and we've done sod all with it. Looking forward to that "unrefusable" offer for Tiote/Cabaye coming in tomorrow now.....
No, I know, don't worry! I don't know if it's pessimistic, but I'm not sure top5 is realistic this season. I'm also not sure whether Ashley will still be owner in 6-12 mths.
We just need a game changing player.. Someone we can bring on as a sub and they add something to the game.. (like Adam Johnson). We seem to have more games but less able players in the squad to deal with them.. And we should of kept Guthrie..
So we finish 5th, qualify for Europe and in the Summer swap Smith for Bigirimana, Guthrie for Anita, Lovenkrands for Amalfitano and Best for...erm...Adam Campbell?? Net spend aside, we've got the same sized squad with an extra competition to deal with and our main rivals all spending in excess of £30m...did I miss something?
What a prick, wake up and smell the coffee when are Liverpool going to realise they are living in the past, Brendan rodgers epic failure, one dimension no plan b not a hope, more like Swansea's b team joe Allen 15 million Henderson 18m downing 20m what pricks
I'm just happy Cwarr is wrong again. He's been going on about Carroll being a dead cert for weeks. #zogonthetyne
Would have liked us to sign Carroll but with the sort of fees and wages being mentioned we would never have gone in for him and frankly i agree with that. If West Ham want to overspend badly risking doing a "Leeds" on an injury prone player thats their problem. We do need to sign players though including a striker but cant see it happening now unless we get a defender now that Raylor is injured. As for the six year old scouser please define tradition for me. Not sure how West Ham, with all due respect to them, have greater tradition or history than us. A younger club with no league titles and 3 F.A. cup wins has more history than us with 4 titles and 6 F.A. cup wins. Ngog-30 goals oh dear, and we get called deluded.
A lot of talk on the way back from the game was about Carroll, it was about 50/50 for wanting him back and not wanting him.
Didn't want him back, don't like a Geordie playing for Allardyce, who ****ed us good and proper without a care in the world.
Andy Carroll was never coming back to Newcastle, unless we offered them major amounts of money, which was never going to happen. Liverpool paid stupid silly money for Carroll, but that was their choice. Since then Carroll's whole Liverpool career has been seriously mismanaged, first by Dogleash and compounded (if that was possible) by Rogers. Liverpool have egg all over their faces and would never have allowed their embarrassment to be compounded further by allowing him back to SJP.
Cracking signing for them and should fit in to there style of play...its a huge step down but good luck to him
