Why wont your club just accept their losses and give us Carroll?

Prefer him to stay, but a bidding war is ok to hopefully bump it up to £20m.

Thats the news being tweeted by Ben Smith at the BBC. Apparently Liverpool and WHU are locked in talks about a £2 million loan deal with another £17 million being paid should West Ham stay up. This will free up the cash for Liverpool to sign a replacement, and should Charlie Adam join Stoke, Liverpool will sign Clint Dempsey which seems to be inevitable.

If you get offered £12M for Carroll, snap their hands off.

Am I being Dense! How does Carroll Going on loan give us money to go and get a player in?
Surely we are not going to move out Carroll and Adam and bring in just Dempsey?

FSG will free up the cash on what they save on AC's wages, and put cash in the pot for a replacement, plus should Adam go, then it frees up funds for a move for Dempsey. Two in+Two out.

Why can we not just accept..... We bought him for 35m; if you want him back so much pay up or else we will look for the best deal possible to minimize the amount we would loose.

If we blindly accepted a Newcastle bid then don't you think it would look more embarrassing than it already is!

To be honest I'd rather he join West Ham for free than join Newcastle for anything less than 25m. Its just the principle of it... theoretically if we accept we would have payed 20m just to loan a player for a year! I hope we don't sell back to Newcastle full stop.

That doesn’t add up! We would still need to pay Carroll’s replacements wages plus a big transfer fee…Unless the player coming in is free or a Loan move?

If Carroll goes, obviously we need a replacement and the owners have said they will fund a deal for a replacement.

I don't get why you blame Newcastle for KK offering 35mill for a player, they would have been muppets not to try and negotiate a silly price as they new you had just screwed Chelsea out of 50 mill.

If you want to be angry with someone then let it be KK you didn't have to buy him.

Think of it as a 12 month bridging loan. Tie West Ham in with a "must buy if they stay up clause" and if they do its 17M next year, so the owners are lending the club the money for a replacement for 12 months with AC's wages going to pay his replacment.

If West Ham go down then f**k knows what happens!

Dont blame your club, I blame those two ****s in charge of the Newcastle. In terms of NUFC its self I've always had an admiration, especially the loyalty and devotion of the fans. But letting them get a player back who they've used a stick to beat our club (talking publicly about the pride they take in the fleecing of Liverpool) for less than half than we paid is too much to take.

Kenny was naive and should have realised the type of person her was dealing with in Llambias and we know that Comoli is just a huge mistake for any football club. The mistake from a Liverpool POV is letting clubs know that there was money to spend (should have claimed that the Torres money was going towards something else)

Suprised by Carroll going to West Ham on loan. One positive is he has a cracking season does well against our rivals (as he can't play against us) and helps us towards 4th place. Maybe someone comes in with a bid of £20mil or so in the summer and we can cash in on him then.

Only problem is if he ha a shocker for West Ham, where does that leave us? Still have a player who has had 2 shocking seasons in the Prem and no one will go anywhere near £15mil for him.

    Time will tell..

Good move for Carroll (as West Ham will build a team around him and its better for him than Newcastle - where he wouldn't be guaranteed a start) and for West Ham (as he's a very good player who will deliver) but not convinced its a good move for Liverpool. I really think he had something to offer and all a loan does really is get him off your books for a season.

If you don't see Brendan Rodgers contradicting himself every time he speaks, fine.

If you don't see LFC trying to operate on the cheap, by bringing in a patsie Manager, who will bitch and moan about nowhere near enough money to develop a squad capable of reaching the Champions League, but ultimately suck it up because he is operating at a level he should only be dreaming of at this stage of his career, then fair enough again.[/QUOTE]

You need to get rid of Hicks & GiLess.

And the sooner you see the back of that naive fool the better.
