Sky Sports understands Huddersfield are lining up a move for Queens Park Rangers striker DJ Campbell.

Huddersfield have targeted a move for Campbell as they seek to bolster their attacking options with Jordan Rhodes poised to seal a switch to Blackburn Rovers.

Campbell's future has been the subject of speculation for some time with the player deemed surplus to requirements at Loftus Road.

Campbell only joined boyhood idols Rangers last summer on a two-year contract, but he endured an injury-plagued season and only made three starts for the club.

Having been signed by former QPR manager Neil Warnock last summer, it was always open to question whether the 30-year-old was part of current boss Mark Hughes' plans.

A number of clubs, including Blackpool, Watford and Bristol City have all been credited with an interest in Campbell, but Huddersfield are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by luring Campbell to Yorkshire.

Huddersfield will have money to spend from the sale of Rhodes and they are ready to use some of that to bring Campbell to the John Smith's Stadium.

While its great seeing all these great players coming in it would be nice to off-load a couple. Us selling Hulse would be the deal of the summer:emoticon-0108-speec

Would be great if we managed to offload all our surplus players. Then I'd really believe our wage bill is down on last year.

Great to see fringe players finding a new club.
