You're not the only one the boys at the Ardent seem to think it's not dead either. They believe it's Ferguson, Fry and MacAnthony getting their wires crossed, one wants to sell, one wants them to stay and one wants more money for them!! IMO I think the deal is dead.
i've seen these things happen before, hence why i'd suggest its not dead. of course, there are any manner of reasons why this has happened - there could be interest from another club with better promotion chances (no offence but there are plenty!)
Spanish, if you read the link posted by Supers, it will show ME is making cash and a decent amount of it out of town. The ultimate way of making money is by getting us and keeping us in the premiership but he can make cash from his debt/ interest repayments currently. Your probably right that the posh boys didnt ask for 30k a week but we dont know they didnt ask for something equally as silly in which case we may have been right to turn them down. For all the anger shown towards clegg I take it he has got some awareness of a wage scale and what would be within budget or not. I wonder if certain players saw the amount we spent under the early ME days and add £5k on to their demands because they feel we are a rich team I dont have a problem with how fans show their support - its is down to the individual concerned - but I can imagine that the club couldnt care less about fans, like yourself, who for whatever reason do not contribute financially to the club and are unlikely to in the near future (in management talk you are not the right demographic for them to keep sweet/ appeal to)
luka modric for one, just these last two weeks. madrid had an offer accepted, he went for a medical, passed, then failed on the terms. a week later, he's a real madrid player (assuming the press got the story correct!)
We dont know what happened but my money would be on ****ing greedy bastard agents .Money grabbing ****s who leach of the back of players . Thats probably where you'l find your answer
Supers, when i said 'name one' i was refering to there being plenty of clubs with better promotion chances. there could be interest from another club with better promotion chances (no offence but there are plenty!)
sorry spanish, obviously not quite with it this morning! i think it would be cruel to name them all, especially as some of them currently reside in league one
I think Supers keyboard would disintergrate before he finished the list of clubs with a better promotion chance than us!
*sigh* Oh well. In hindsight, there was always a chance that moronic idiot (which one, eh?!) would mess it up. Supers is right to an extent, ME is the man who should be blamed, but will he? No, I doubt it. Clegg has done this on numerous times before, and he always gets the blame. Surely ME would have said something by now to the oaf, but no. I think (my own opinion) that ME doesn't really care about this club. He helped the club out massively, and for that I am grateful, but that is it. He's using this as a business, and a profitable one at that. So yes, in his eyes, he is doing a damn good job. I presume he wants to be like Jeremy Peace, and keep us in the red without spending any more cash than we have too. At least with the Baggies owner, he does have a grasp of footballing knowledge! PS - Clegg and Jewell out!
