Having a Grimsby fan on here reminds me of a letter a supporter wrote. I guess most of you guys have read it..but for those who haven't..take a look. One of the funniest things I have ever read. http://www.heavensports.com/football/world-fk-grimsby-fan-rant/
Must have been 1996 Tiz, I wasn't allowed on lads holidays till I turned 16, haha. I reckon maybe April 96, thereabouts!
Yeah reckn yr rite mate. Anyway it was def the 1st time the peter reid song was sang en mass. Aparently some lads put it together on the away game before-somewhere down south if I remember rite?
Well the youths need a guiding hand, the rumours I'm hearing(impeccable source) is that since Bally has gone there has been hardly any training done, afternoons off, with some of them hanging around Morrisons, eating fast food and generally skylarking about being a pain in the arse. One lad in particular needs a boot up the arse- a right lazy so and so from a rich family, a spoilt B'stard with a right attitude problem, Bally would have sorted him - I hope this lad can.
This could be a very good move considering he's come from, and been working, with one of the top academys in the country for bringing players through, hopefully he can bring that knowledge with him.
Cheers for this - never seen it before and i just nearly pissed myself laughing. The Gok Wan quote was hilarious.
Thanks for the info mate. I always remember that Italian guy that used to play for you. Ivano Bonettii or somthing. He said he fell in love with Grimsby because of the town and the locals. That soon changed mind when Brian Laws smashed his face in with a plate!
Sorry for the OP's troubles, but know how he feels. I grew up in Chester and The Seals were my second team for years. Went bust a couple of years back and relegated to the 8th tier of the football Pyramid. Now in the 6th tier and on the way back, so hope is not lost entirely, mate.
Not only a plate, but a plate of fried chicken (allegedly) although in the link below its "sandwiches", what it was doing in the changing rooms at half time, we will never know: http://beh1ndthescenes.wordpress.com/2010/10/16/grimsby-town-part-3-the-bonetti-incident/
