whatever criticism you think may be leveled at them they are doing everything they said they'd do. even with the sky money they must be financing this a lot by themselves. the quality of players we've signed is simply staggering, yes there's a couple of Herbert's too but even the most hardened of fans must put their hands up and say fair dos. it's now up to those said players to produce. roll on Chelsea!!!
People are just worried about the future if TF ever decides to jump ship, that's all. Gods knows we are a moaning lot(me included ahem). Seems a good bloke, amit more so given the time he's served. We just need to have some faith brothers. amen
I can't see them going anywhere anytime soon. Amit has the passion, Tony doesn't seem too far behind. But for Fernandes he's got a worldwide advertising campaign for nothing. The premiership is televised in most countries around the world and we've got his company plastered across our chest. It doesn't matter what he spends, he's quids in for the amount of advertising he's getting. But the difference with the club now is, even if they did have enough, with the players they've installed and ground work they've laid out we have become a commercially viable club again, if they left there would be plenty of buyers.
Any criticism they (stupidly imo) had must surely be over now? They are bringing some of the best players to qpr - with by the sounds of it more to come.
Amit and the Mittals take over if TF jumps. We are only in trouble if both go before we build a new stadium.
I always wonder why it's ok for clubs like chelsea, man city to be funded by their owners and when we do it, there's article after article of criticism. The transfer fees we're paying pale in comparison to even blackburn and sunderland, even taking into account their higher crowds....yet nothing about them.
Saints fans were at it and they wasted 7.5 on Rodriguez and are trying to buy Ramires for £13m and then have a go at us signing a player on a free! Some people just cant take their club being overtaken by others, sure they are funding us but thats only until we get a new stadium and then we will be self sustainable.
I think it's probably because we're seen as a small club still, and up until we get a new shiny big stadium people will still think of QPR as that small club in West London in the shadow of their neighbours. Unfortunately too many people in the football world believe that the size of a club is defined by the size of its stadium or history rather than what a club is currently achieving on and off the pitch. Fortunately we have owners who don't agree!
I think our being a London club is always a plus for potential owners. Not for one minute do i think TF/Amit would jump ship. They are here for the long term and have brought people in to fulfill their goals. If i was ever worried i would say so. Just enjoy!
I'm enjoying this passage in our history at the moment. It's exciting and we are now in a moment that I could only dream about 3, 10 or even 15 years ago. What will be will be. If it ends at the end of this season so be it. I doubt it. I just love QPR. We are unique, and we have always had our downs. I said to my 9 year old daughter that we had just signed the Brazillian keeper from Inter and that it's possible that another 1-3 top drawyer signings could be coming in. She said.. '' Dad, I like being a small exclusive club. I love our little ground, I don't want to be like Chelsea. I like it that I'm the only QPR fan in my class. '' That is the truth. Word for word. In a soppy sentimental kinda way, I agreed with her.
