Maybe, if he could add Owen's finishing to his height and pace, but, as he is.....Nah, you're alright mate.
i dread to think what the pinkun posters make of it. i will reiterate what i've said all along - this is not a confirmed deal - all i know is that talks have taken place regarding a possible loan deal. it may or may not end up coming to fruition - judging by the ground swell against it, i would think we all agree it would not be a great move! hopefully he's not our number one target and is merely a back up plan
I think this window will end in dissapointment regards the striker position. If were going for a striker from the prem, within our budget were not going to get much for our money!
agree with this. i'm not convinced we'll get a striker of real quality during this window. maybe a loan will come to fruition, but i suspect it'll merely add to the numbers rather than anything more substantial in terms of ability.
Totally unconvinced with this idea. I would rather look at brining in someone like Odemwingie although i am not sure his is available and is getting on a bit. We either need to be loaning in someone with genuine quyality that we couldnt afford to buy or trying to get a good priced deal from europe. I am not sure what options this would really leave us with If I am honest.
I'd prefer Odemwingie to Anchovy in all honesty ... always felt he was a bloody handful but very inconsistent it must be said.
Bloody hell now I know pinkun is messed up - they called Supers a reliable source ;-) Anyway no thanks to Victor but a lot of posters in that pinkun thread mention Gio dos Santos - has he been linked or are they wishful thinkers? I think he would be a quality signing to be fair playing in the sort of Rooney striker position linking with the Grolt.
Now someones said he's not so much a "reliable source" but a "rumour monger". as if.......????? I trust what he says, I just don't always agree with it!!
http://services.pinkun.com/forums/pinkun/cs/forums/2782660/ShowPost.aspx This thread discribes all my hatred of the Pinkun. Bunch of Canary calling nobodies that wouldn't know what a football was if the King of Spain himself launched it at their noggin from 25 yards. These are the people that breed division and negativity in our club, these are the ones that try and bring down the enjoyment of football for everybody. The Morison/Tierney rumours are bred by people like this. RANT OVER.lol
Jackson for example is the Lappin of the forward line....good to fill in for injuries/cup games/bench duty but shouldn't be anywhere near a regular starter for a side trying to become a stable Premier League club. The man will score goals of course....hard for a striker not to, and I certainly can't knock his desire/work ethic....Saying that of course the same can be said of K.Smith, C.Martin,E.Ward (tho he gets a lot of unfair stuff) and I would say B.Johnson (hope Tettey is the real deal!). Now we're knocking Jackson...seems harsh to me
I was relieved to see most of the people in that thread did actually disagree with the person who started that Lappin thread, thankfully.
dos santos was linked to us on some mad transfer rumour site and of course, the pinkun lot have probably taken it as red major natural talent, but you have to ask yourself why he has never actually shown any of it at club level... must be an attitude thing.
