Kneejerk reaction to a single bad performance, not everyone is against him, just a shame that theres another difficult match coming up, the Leicester Radio moan-in will continue for a week or so yet.
I really think this is the worlds worst over reaction from fans in our history. As all those mugs say, cant we just 'keep calm and carry on'?
At least your fans are not unique in this, happens every season in the League Cup 2nd round, and fans need to come to terms with this. Fewer teams in the PL take the competition seriously (even we made 11 changes last night!) and the trend seems to be spreading to Championship teams as the league is becoming much more of a priority. I would love to see us have a decent cup run but as with last season I do not expect it to happen because the focus is survival in the PL now.
Looks like the knives are out already by many for The Manager. It could well be more than Leicesters cup hopes that go for a Burton this week ? Lose badly to Blackpool in front of a world-wide tv audience on saturday and NP P45 could well be issued. We did warn you that he was not the right man for the job after Sven was sacked. Get rid as Phil Brown is looking for a job. Not really. No play-offs for relegation in the the championship. Yes we did win the game 2-0 but found out we had drawn Burton Albion away in round 3 so lost 3-2 and Threw that chance away.
NP is still a very good manager. Sacking him is ridiculous. I wasn't happy he left but then I was chuffed Barmby became manager. Bruce is a good manager too but it seems supporters today don't want to give managers a couple of seasons to put their stamp on a club. At least the Leicester fans are being a bit more realistic about their players and chances. Makes a change from the idiotic boastful comments over the last 12 months! Welcome back normal fans!
In fairness, we're also seeing 'Bruce out' posts and texts on Radio Humberside etc etc. Both Leicester and Hull have had a difficult start to the Season in terms of opposition. There's a few exaggerations in terms of managers apparently being **** or not good enough for the job. Pearson is a good manager and is usually solid but he has to get his side sorted first, and in regards to Bruce, we played the best 15/20 mins of football I've ever seen Hull City play at Charlton. Just typical City, we didn't take the chances. I think both sides just need that one good win, and they'll both run rampant.
Just need to swap the word "Hull" for "Leicester" as we were the same, Charlton won't ride their luck forever imo.
Same with the Wendies. They've had a great start but I think the League will catch up with them and they'll soon have a reality check. It's similar to us with our first Season in the Premier League, new brand of football, teams didn't know how to set up against it, get some great results, and then the League catches up and there's an awful second half of the Season... Then again, Powell is a smart manager and I think Charlton will be alright and will be the most likely ones out of the promoted 3 to get back-to-back.
Decided not to comment on this thread last night after returning from the match. Whatever anybodys feelings are about NP, we all want the same thing - a successful and profitable LCFC (maybe with the exception of our guests from Hull Leeds and Norwich). The first 3 league games of the season have been indifferent :- Peterborough - I thought we were quite poor, it was just that they were pretty abysmal. Charlton - We were poor in the first half, and then battered them in the second half. Blackburn - We played well for 85 minutes and should have won. We have 20 odd players in the first team squad, and at some time, they all need to play football. NP decided to make 8 changes to allow some more of them to get game time - with 6 players getting their first competetive outings of the season. I wasnt surprised when the team was announced, and thought it should have been strong enough to see off Burton. The fact of the matter was that they played out of their skins, and we were simply dreadful. Was that NPs fault - well he selected the team, decided on the subs and it was down to him to motivate. So, was it NPs fault that Danns could neither pass or control the football, that ZW would let one go under his foot. Sorry - but cant agree that the manager was at fault at all. The players should take full responsibility for such a dismal performance. I actually thought that some played last night cos they were in the shop window prior to the transfer deadline. Unfortunately, those players, including Waggy and Gallagher didnt do themselves any favours at all. Is NP the right man for the job? Well, we will have an answer for that at the end of the season - but I see no-one better than him that we could appoint. Would have loved to hear his words to the squad at Belvoir today. We have so many new players again this season, that we do need to allow time for them to properly gel, but all of the stand out players so far this season have been signed by NP (apart from King) ie Marshall, Vardy, Morgan and Drinkwater. As the Beatles sang 'All we are saying, is give Nige a chance'.
I saw the first leg on the Saturday and was in hospital having had a knee operation when the replay took place ... they had me full of morphine so I still thought I was delirious when I had read that we had lost 1-0 and, what's more, my schoolboy hero Tommy Williams had put through his own net!
Poptabulous OLM ... is your new found bonhomie a sign of improving relations between our boards? .. dare I suggest 'Happy Xmas War Is Over' even ... perhaps in recognition that we are both wallowing in the brown stuff (not chocolate Charlie - for when you get round to reading this)....
As one of the first to be calling for Sven's head, Pearson still has my total support at present. I think the players were more to blame for last night - some very disappointing performances from players vying for a regular spot. With little time now until the transfer window closes I suspect we'll see some movement in January defence-wise. Oh, and Danns can **** off IMHO - waste o ****in space.
It was a crap result when everyone was expecting a lift but no need to go for the Nuclear option just yet. Lets see where we are after 10 games.......just make sure we know how to get hold of 'Arry!
At the end of the day, the manager puts the players out. He is responsible for the teams performance. They play ****e he gets the sack .thats how it is. We have two very difficult games coming up and I can't realistically see us getting more than two points from them with how things have been going for us. It's no good saying we should of had 3pts against Blackburn They played bad and won we played brill and got nothing. They move into the top three we move nearly into the bottom three. No one cares who was best , it is points related industry. I fear our start could make our owners extremely nervous and I'm afraid the sword is probably being sharpened at this moment
Danger, not being funny but people were also calling for Martin O'Neill's head after quite a poor start to his tenure,at Filbert Street ! Do you think the then City chairman (Martin George) was right to ignore the wishes of the fans ? & please give a reason for whatever you answer is !
