Who has to play qualifying games this season? Is it Chelsea as the champions outside the top 4? Or Arsenal? I know that I would definitely choose Arsenal for Champions League football, just to get my hands onto one of them famous Quarter Finalist medals. But can't see them even getting that far this season.
Arsenal have to qualify Chelsea go into the tournament as England number one, Man City two and Man Utd three
So why now he is turning down the contract and looking for a move? Surely if he was looking to win etc he would have signalled his intent earlier in the window, exactly like RVP did. Walcott was waiting for contract talks, that's why, to see if they were going to put him on the big bucks.
Actually, they must have because the third round of qualifiers as already begun. The Champions League group stage draw happens shortly too
I wouldn't worry, I think there is a 0.00005% chance we actually want him. Just because we made an enquiry, doesn't mean he is top of our list. He won't be worth the money he thinks he is worth.
Echoing what a few others have said, no thanks. 75k p/w is astronomical for a player of Walcotts limited talents. He is not even a genuine winger, wierd one this as the only team I see him going to would be City. If city do go for him.then that leaves Scott Sinclair available, I must admit I haven't seen too much of him last season but he is a threat from the wings, has worked with BR & if city were genuinely in for him there must be so.e talent there, would command significantly less wages than Theo.
Think I would prefer to see Sinclair, great player. Would be cheaper and surely we can go in for him now City have made an offer?
Just a random thought... it caught my eye looking at his name that his name is an anagram for "that toe cowl"... somehow I thought it important to share. Do we really need a toe cowl?
If signed I think BR may play him up front as the central striker, as Theo doesnt seem to be a good crosser, but is a good finisher
Btw... not taking anything from Sinclair... but anyone looking at stats and drooling over goals he scored... remember most of those in recent years came from penalty kicks. Just like Adams from Blackpool. Undoubtedly he is better than Adam though and is otherwise a poor comparison.
AFC officials met with Walcott's agents - AFC have said they will not sell Walcott this week, however he has not signed a new contract. Either AFC are confident the player will sign a contract in the coming months, Walcott will hold out and leave on a free or AFC are trying to beef up their position when negotiating with potential buyers in the next few days.
Liverpool sign Walcott? Liverpool already have one English player that can't cross his legs in Downing, why the **** would they want to pay £12+ million for another one?
Walcott is probably going to have to choose between CL football and playing central striker. Personally dont think he has it in him to leave.
