Morning Dublin, you alright fella. I'll delete my thread but add the content to your page mate. Leeds cruised past Oxford last night 3-0 at fortress Elland Road. Goals fromAustin, Byram and Lees settled things for the Mighty Whites which saw our forth clean sheet of the season (I believe thats how many we got for the whole of last season). Somebody made a great point yesterday, that we are actually winning games that wer should be winning. Thats four wins out of 5 games in all competitions, and only two goals conceeded, happy? A noticable absentee was Danny Pugh, not even on the bench, is he about to be transfered? Lets hope that Diouf signs on the dotted line asap. Has your opinion of Diouf changed in the last 3 weeks? Is Elland Road becoming a fortress again, is there a buzz around the pitch, or is it5 too early to tell? Did you watch the highlights? Unfortunately I fell asleep, anybody got a link? Its Adam Drury's birthday today folks, he's 34...
A little bit off topic but I found myself reading a post on GC, and if you are wondering what kind of person it attracts, this is the replys I got what I pubically told Mick that I think GC should be closed :- 28/08/2012 10:04 PM SaintsForTheWine Thread: mick yer a prick **** off **** 28/08/2012 02:47 PM MD 20/20 Thread: mick yer a prick have some more bellend 28/08/2012 02:06 PM Toby Thread: mick yer a prick sad little **** 28/08/2012 01:58 PM VenomPD Thread: mick yer a prick I'm going to anally gape your grandmother. Indeed Elland some decent graft put in last night, esp by Austin...again. You would wonder how long he can keep this up, being his first season in a tough and physical league like this one. I have to be honest and say that I loved the reaction Diouf got from the crowd, Imagine how he would feel if elland road was packed and they were chanting diiiiiiouffff, I think there was around 14K there last night? I am hoping he signs today , Warnock mentions that he doesn't need the money, not sure if that was tounge in cheek.
Morning all On one hand I think we beat a Div 2 side at home big deal - on the other they are sitting top of Div 2 unbeaten and we had a very make shift team out there. Gray hardly got a mention from the commentary I heard, Byram, Austin and Diouf stood out. MASSIVE game for us on Saturday - If we can win that one then maybe we have turned a small corner. What a bad night last night for Championship teams, out go: Birmingham, Bolton, Hull, Leicester, Blackburn, Forest, Watford, Peterborough, Barnsley, Palace, Ipswich I know the league is far more important but with the T/O not looking likely I wouldn't mind another winnable home game before we draw one of the big boys from the Prem. Last night was a good run out for a few fringe players and another game for the team to gel together.
A lot of clubs just don't put the effort in to this cup do they? I don't think they really care about going out, to be honest it's the league that is important. These cup runs with a threadbare squad like ours could be a disaster.
It depends on how you look at it... I don't believe we have a strong enough squad to get us promoted so a cup run would be nice. The class gap between us and Blackpool was massive, nothing at the moment will convince me we are going to finish much above mid table. If I truly believed promotion was a realistic chance I would agree with you.
It may have been a lower league team, but look at the Bradford City game last season. At least today we look a lot more solid and drilled, whereas last season was always squeeky bum time against anybody. This team whatever anyone feels about its quality, is stronger, better and more capable than last seasons, and we don't have Clayton, Snodss or Howson, so suggest that Warnock is a better bloke than Grayson for us right now. I would also be very, very confident in Warnock getting us up if he had the cash to finish his rebuild. I would not be confident that Grayson could do it given the same conditions as Warnock
Morning all. Lasts nights game totally irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Well be out of it in next couple of rounds anyway. Lots more important things to happen in the short term we hope
Morning all. Elland, I went on GC a few months ago and put a comment on a thread something along the lines of... "Can I just take this opportunity to thank Mick for creating this site. You're providing a wonderful service by giving the mentally ill a forum that makes them feel connected with society while at the same time keeping them off the streets and out of harms way." The reaction I got was immediate, they all turned on me like a pack of wild dogs (or so they would like to think !) and a whole torrent of abuse came my way. I'm sure their Mum's would have been very disappointed.
Morning All, Elland, you've gone and got my hopes up now. It hadn't occurred to me. I thought he'd just been dropped 'cos he was ****e. Now you've got me hoping. Bastard!
Morning all. Great result last night, not because we won easily 3-0, but the confience it will breed. It was also interesting to hear that Diouf did well & may not be a fans favourite, but at least he's getting some respect & applause. It was also interesting to hear that Warnock might actually have some positive selection issues. No doubt some of the usual suspects will return after some much needed rest. But who now plays CM; Austin & who? Does Brown get the holding midfield slot, as Austin seems to benefit from going box to Box? Will Byram play out wide right with White wide left? If so, where does that leave Diouf & all the various players Warnock has brought in? Will Peltier & Drury return as R & LB respecitely? Is Pugh injured or now almost surplus to requirements, even in a small squad?
I would like to believe that some will have done enough to get a start against Blackburn - It was still lower league opposition though so not too much tinkering I hope. Peltier and Drury back for me on Saturday but I don't have a problem with Brown alongside Austin and Byram wide right.
Seems fair enough to me ristac. Some that didn't play last night & aren't a guaranteed start might just be looking a bit concerned. On a separate question, will Nunez stay & push for at least a bench place on a regular basis via performances in the development squad, or can we expect to see him leave by Friday?
GC has a function, and that function is to house Glaswegian/meta-Glaswegian faux edginess. Still, there are moments when I feel meta-Glaswegian and faux edgy, so I do visit from time to time.
