Could it be Defoe? I know he has been mooted for the last few weeks but rumours abound this morning we are making a bid for him. I would love this to be true. We would have a fantastic attacking line up if we got him.
Cant see Tottenham letting him go they dont have much back up if they let him go, but would be a massive coup for Oneill if he could get that one. Still think we will get 3 more in before window shuts. One striker, left back and potentially another centre back. But would love to see an attacking central midfielder. we have needed one for as many years as i can remember
that really would be the icing on the cake tbh, however id take two proper fullbacks over a forward right now (doesn't mean i wouldn't like another forward) think we are really short on those positions, and injuries have only highlighted that fact. Defoe is a terrific striker and would fill that goal poacher role we've needed for a long time, it would also give us the option to switch to 4-4-2 with a big man little man formation, would like to see him here but i cannot see it happening, would like to be proven wrong though
Stella signing? Is that the one where your manager gets completely legless then starts ringing up agents? Fairly sure Johnson will be your stella(r) signing, and he's a good one at that. If you actually replace the liability who is Cattermole with someone half decent I'd be inclined to put physical money on you qualifying for Europe.
Flippin heck Terry, thats a compliment in itself coming from you...lol..seriously though would love to see someone of Defoes calibre at the club, but cant see it meslf, where would it leave Sess, also not so sure that another CB is on the shopping list. If anything I thing we will see Mr Strinic coming in, within the next day or so.
Ha ey Biffa I've been fighting your corner all last week with the Fletcher signing, saying it's more than just the stats etc. Players can only improve if given the opportunity to and although the Fletcher signing kind of ended up fading into the background due to the AJ transfer, I still reckon he's your most valuable asset, as much as AJ is a technically well developed player, it's no good having him if there's nobody there to finish off his good work.
I honestly beleive that Johnson was our 'Stellar' signing and agree with others that we are not finished yet, more will come but not in the same bracket as Johnson.
If you saw Cattermole play against Arsenal last week you certainly wouldn't be saying that - he RAN the midfield completely start to finish

In fact, he could play 10 awesome games but unfortunately for your argument to succeed, his past must not precede him, but it does and will do until he's been consistently clean and becomes a reliable player. That doesn't happen overnight, or in one game or in a handful of games. Highlighting an Arsenal game in which he was up against a poor Diaby who was later replaced by the most over rated CM in PL history in Ramsay, alongside Arteta who has never been a tackler is hardly an achievement. We stuck 8 past a similar Arsenal line up last season.

Must say although Catts has performed well in the first 2 games (one being morecambe tbf) What does he actually bring to the team? Apart from a reputation? Never shoots, can barely pass Tackling is scholes-esque at best Just there to make up numbers imo
