Just confirmed by Big Mart on 5Live that we've accepted a bid from Spurs for Moussa Dembele and given him permission to speak to them.

Amazing how a season's optimism can disappear in less than 24 hours.

Absolutely unbelievable. I am outraged at this, that Jol would allow Dembele to leave with only DAYS left in the transfer window. Life will go on but it will be a long time before another player lights up CC the way Dembele did.

I'm absolutely gutted. I was prepared to lose Clint but losing Moussa is just too much. I'm also a bit surprised he's going to Sp*rs rather than a more regular Champions League club.

I'm also not too thrilled to see we're apparently spending the funds on... Kieran Richardson.

On the bright side, its possible we'll use the rest of the funds on a Ruiz-esque deadline day swoop (this is probably just me desperately clinging to hope). Also worth noting we have Kasami... could this be his year? Is it possible that Ruiz and Pajtim between them could fill the hole?
I'm going to put my blind faith in mr. Jol, he tends to know what he's doing

Of course he does - he'll be back at WHL before you know it.

Some on our board claimed before this spurs bid got announced that bids from Manchester United and Spurs had been accepted. Personally I'm really surprised Fulham accepted the bid. With him you guys were realistic contenders for Europe, but without him you have a slim chance IMO.

Out of curiosity would you rather he go to Spurs or United, and what if we Threw in Berbatov + Cash?

dissapointed but he has the clause and was in his last year. 15m is good money - many last season said they'd take 15 incl me. Jol will replace I am sure, irons are in the fire. He must have expected this and was only a matter of time while the modric saga went on.

I'm as upset as anyone, as like you all say we expected Dempsey to leave and have had 5 brilliant years out of him whereas Dembele seemed like he was just coming towards his absolute best for us. That said we're getting in excess of £15m for him, which must be close to our record transfer sale (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I also have no hard feelings towards him as he's started the season brilliantly for us even if doing so to put himself in the shop window and has shown the upmost professionalism whilst these rumours have circulated. No player has amazed us like him for a long time, but I don't believe for a second Jol would allow this if he didn't have a top replacement in mind. Essentially what I'm saying is lets reserve judgement until the window closes. If no-one aside from Richardson has been signed then maybe we have cause for concern!

Unless Jol has a few aces up his sleeve then I'm inclined to agree with you.

he must have a creative MF lined up..he's been banging on about losing Murphy all summer...
we must have money to spend and I expect Jol to buy and quickly. You can see us getting linked with everyone now we have money.

Panic buys rarely work out well cravens. We panicked last year with Ruiz and even he hasn't lived up to the price tag 12 months later. I'm not sure of Jol was preparing for the loss of Dembele but he sure better had now.

Cheer up everyone, emotions are running high I understand but we're really more than a two man team. Schwarzer, Hangeland, Riise, Diarra, Ruiz, Petric make a good spine to the team? Then the excitement of Frei and Kacaniklic? Yes we were poor tonight but league wise we've shown two good displays so far and with a few days left in the window lets see what Jol has in mind before making rash judgements.

No. I agreed with pretty much everything else you said SofE but not on Kasami. I know he's only 19 and he hasn't had a decent run of 1st team games since his fall out last January. However, as I've said before, he's one paced and I'd question his application.

I just wish Minkowitz was a couple year older.

I wish Mesca was too. As it stands this leaves us with only Kasami, Diarra and Sidwell in the centre, so Jol must be planning something, and by something I mean something more than just Kieran Richardson. I hope. (my desperate search for the silver lining continues)
