shame, he's been brilliant as of late. starting to like him more. nolans back though and irelands in for contention so we shouldn't have too many worries.

Guthrie came in and did very well and certainly surprised me because I thought he was finished with us after that West Brom performance earlier in the season.

Not too worried about the selection though because I think there will be more creativity with Guthrie out of the side if Ireland plays, we have much more of an attacking threat with Ireland and Nolan in the team.

    My personal team would be:

    Krul

    Simpson Coloccini Williamson Enrique

    Barton Tiote Nolan Gutierrez

    Ireland

    Ameobi

Wouldnt play Lovenkrands on his own because without Shola we have very little aerial ability in the team, no-one else in the forward line can win flick ons the way Shola can and Lovenkrands would be a bit out of his depth on his own IMO.

Having said all that though the team I think Pardew will choose:

    Krul

    Simpson Coloccini Williamson Enrique

    Barton Tiote Nolan Gutierrez

    Ameobi Lovenkrands

He wont start Ireland he will probably introduce him slowly, I personally think that would be a bad idea. Ireland must start IMO.

Agree about Ireland, we need to see him play if we are going to make the decision to sign him or not, and if he was fit for Villa, he should be able to start now. Also Lover and Shola have got the effort but lack much of an impact. I think he could play with either against Blackpool, but for this season, probably play him off Ameobi (or ideally Ranger IMO).

Is Ireland fit enough to start? He looked a bit off the pace when he was brought on on tuesday, mebs do a half time sub with lover if we aren't playing well.

I'd stick with Sholas experience until we have the points on the board, he had more impact against Man Utd IMO.

    Ranger needs loaning out pronto.

He does, there's some very basic parts of his game that need developing, but I cant help but feel he's already at a similar level to Shola (taking into account his athleticism and power). Next season we should hopefully have 2 new first choice strikers, with Best and Shola backup and Lover as reserve 5th in the last year of his deal. Ranger could do with a couple of loans to fix up his attitude and more importantly develop his shortcomings. In a couple of seasons he would come back and could well be a top class player, just as Shola and Lover are retiring.

You should hear commentators trying to pronounce Peterborough's James Wesolowski.

It's actually pronounced Wes-ol-ov-skee, but I've heard Wes-ol-ok-ov-skee, Ves-ol-ov-skee, Wes-ol-ow-skee, and my personal favourite from the announcer at Huddersfield, Ves-elo-olo-kow-os-sky.

On the team for Blackpool, I would play Ranger up front, Ireland just behind, and the midfield 4 then picks itself.

Would like to see Allardyce and McCarthy try their hand at saying Exodus Geohaghon, (on loan at Port Vale), which incidentally is an awesome name.

He was asked once how to pronounce his name by some fans. He responded:

"I don't know. My parents don't know either. People just call me Exodus."

Another great name from Peterborough (now at Brentford) is Toumani Diagouraga, or 'Dave' as he was known at Hereford, Peterborough and now Brentford.

    He was useless too...

This... Nolan is best off in the goal poaching position than in CM, but I fear Ireland will be over run with his lack of match fitness in the middle.
