Great recruiter, **** manager. Said it all along before he signed here, however it's a bit soon to be getting the guillotine out, let's see what he can do for us. If we're still **** by Christmas I will happily join the witch hunt, because quite frankly I've thought he was a pile of dog **** since he was at Sunderland and just because he's manager of hull city doesn't instantly make him good. And just to back up olm, we were frequent Bruce bashers in the past so nothing new there, I just wonder where the rest have got to...
Too many on here are just waiting for an opportunity to jump on either Bruce's backs to be honest. Quite frankly it's ridiculous, particularly after three league games. The sad thing is I couldn't care less about tonight's game but that's just my attitude towards the league cup, absolutely nothing to do with Bruce.
A few over reactions me thinks. We don't have the devine right to beat anybody and this is football for you. Loads of teams have lost to lower league opposition tonight. We've had a solid enough start in the league so let's just take this rather disappointing result on the chin and move on.
Yes I must apologise for not being a "Bruce basher". Maybe that's more important than supporting the manager and giving him a fair chance to prove himself.
Writing was on the wall when he signed his son Alex - Nobody else wanted him, that decision was so wrong on a footballing level.
Yes NB was a passionate manager, but that passion did not prevent us from suffering an embarrassing cup defeat at home to Crawley did it? One positive from the season so far must be the form of Jay Simpson - a player the passionate one appeared to totally ignore!
Personally, I couldn't give a **** about the Capital One Cup. Tonight makes no difference to me, I didn't rate our manager before the season started and he's gone downhill in my estimations since it did start. Message boards, they're all about opinions, eh?
Cant blame Bruce for this performance. Going up 2 in 10 minuets and then loosing 3-2 with a Red Card is hardly his fault. 0 wins in our last 3 games and 1 goal in 3 league games is partly his fault. It is also the fault of the players on the field. We need real players, the bunch that has been going out there simply can not do it. Pearson couldn't get it done with them, Barmby couldn't get it done with them and now Bruce isn't getting it done with them. I know some players have come and gone but a bunch have not and if they cant do it they need to be shown the door.
Couldn't put it better myself. On the bright side, might just give them the kick up the arse they need after a game that really meant nothing. I'd take 3 points in the league than a cup run.
Just what does he has have to prove....that he can get teams promoted out of the Championship...that he can manage teams in the Prem????? He is building a team. He has **** all to prove.
Apart from one mistake which led to our only conceded goal in the league Alex Bruce has played well for us. The problem isn't the player it's the vultures circling in the hope that he fails.
Others have all made fair points. Why have so many of us changed our minds about him being an average-at-best manager just because he's now in charge of our club? He has the ability to attract some very good players, especially at this level, but some of his decisions are just baffling. He made a big mistake in signing Alex too. He's simply not Championship standard. I'd be interested to know why exactly he sent him on tonight for Faye. Was it as simple as Faye being fatigued or injured, and this unfit for extra-time (which still seemed likely at that point), or was it so his wee boy could get his appearance bonus?
I don't care if he fails or not. Look at what the fans from every club he has played for say about him, we were piss poor last season, could not defend to save our life and Bruce wasn't even making the bench. On that record I don't believe ANY other manager would have signed him in this division. Do you honestly believe SB signed him for any reason other than he is his son?
