Because at half time it was 0-0 , I said it and accept (without seeing the game) the team appeared to of played much better in the 2nd half .
What rational person would want to put a full strength team against a league one opponent in a meanlingless competition whilst we have an incredibly difficult and important premier league game in a few days.
Oh man, Preston normally can't score at all but they've stuck 4 past Crystal Palace. No idea how with Aaron Martin on the field, we should recall him.
Great to see the youngsters having a go. Stevenage have defo given us a game especially in the first half. Good result for what looked to be made up of reserve and under 21's players. Nice to see Lee back & scoring plus Seaborne playing a full 90
Because we should try and win a trophy , simple as that really , chances are we will lose to United so winning tonight was very important in my opinion .
Why do some people on here have the impression that an opinion doesn't need to be justified, and can't be stupid?
I don't think anyone was getting upset, just wondering why more first team members weren't involved, a nice mix of first team and kids. People seem so eager to jump on others and slap them down on here when there's no need for it. Anyway, it's academic, Saints won, convincingly in the end.
the likeliness of us winning a trophy is incredibly slim. The team we put out was also more than good enough to deal with a pretty weak opposition, as demonstrated by the result.
This is what I was talking about when I said you can't disagree with something without people assuming it's a vicious attack. I asked why people were upset because I couldn't see a rational reason for it. That's it. It really isn't difficult.
Very pleased to see us overcome that hurdle and get a first win. They are almost no-win games these and I am delighted that we gave youth a go, and it worked out. Anyone remember Tranmere? Twice, I believe. (shudders)
