    Hello Southampton fans,

Over the last several days there has been a number of bans issued to some of your members.

You need to resolve your differences, it is your community and for you to decide how these differences are resolved by working with your mods.

If you attempt to break a ban, then of course the consequences are likely to be a longer ban or even permanent.

Flaming http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaming_(Internet) really does not assist your cause if you are wishing to express your views freely. The moderators of your board do so voluntarily and should not be subject to abuse or any attempts to disrupt the board.

Therefore after your community has had ample opportunity to highlight their differences over several days, albeit also under various multiple accounts, I have now disappointedly decided to get involved, as you appear unable to reach agreement with your mods.

I wish to respectfully to highlight the following two posters, Mr. Nice you have served your ban and I request that you post within the rules of your community, not my rules but the rules of the majority of posters on your board.

SFC 1885 - you are banned and remain banned, however, I also believe in an attempt at an opportunity, by only banning you from the Southampton board (also your rivals board) - I hope I have not made a wrong decision by not banning you outright. This is until such time that you can convince the mods (if that is even possible) the ban should be lifted. So it really is up to you, are you here to cause trouble or do you want to be part of the discussions on this board in the future?

So basically I have issued no permanent bans today but it is down to you and the other members of your virtual community how we proceed from here. Sorry people I cannot decide how your board is run, that needs to be decided by your members alone.

    <cheers>

So how do we we go about setting down some rules? polls? moderaters get the last say?

upon letting each club choose there forum rules as such, theres bound to be diffrences, should just be a straight out rule set out by the admins of this site.

But some people on our board are so arrogant that 'flaming' is the equivalent of smacking them in the face in the local...sometimes it's necessary!

I suggest you take a leaf out of what I do on a monthly basis and get rid of and replace all you 'middle management' (mods). They have gone stale and in all seriousness are not up to the task. They have gone stale and quite frankly appear to be power hungry, probably getting a trip because they have some power on here where as they don't in every day life. For the improvement of the board and for a no doubt increase in traffic they should be removed and replaced by suitable candidates.

I think that is a bit harsh. They don't seem to be doing that bad to me and I have no complaints other than the lack of attention by the super mods/admin and their failure to put clubs in their correct alphabetical positions league wise.

I agree - I don't have any problems with the mods and the only one's that do are the ones trying to bend the rules

I have no problem with the Mods. In fact if it weren't for them being here this board would already be garbage.....something that it has gotten ever closer to over the past weeks. As for vote them out or they have gone stale? Sounds like some chav who wants other chavs to let him fill the board with chav small talk!!!

By all means a bit of banter here and there however there is a swear filter on this forum for a reason and you have to respect the wishes of those that choose to use the swear filter. People who post up images which contain swear words should be on a last warning straight away....you know who you are and you do this intentionally

Those who have decided that this site is just another chat room and fill hundreds of pages with garbage shoudl get a grip. We are here for football not 5 pages of name calling and chav small talk building a thread into 150 pages!!!! If that Gaston thread were weedled down to only on topic it would be less than 10 pages and then the rest of us could read it without having to wade through tons of **** and most likely miss the postst that are realative!!!

General Chat is widely recognised as being a waste of time.. If this board gets like Geneeral chat then it might as well not be here... If you want that kind of thing go post on the uglyinside.

I for one will report anyone who tries to avoid the swear filter. An yes you can pm me. I never read any pms unless they come from admin so you'll waste your time.

From A boring old man aged 37!!! Not a chav, plenty of power already, mod on other forums and alround old fashioned good egg

The Mods do as good a job as they possibly can, considering the circumstances.

Nobody likes to be censored and I sometimes wonder if an off topic / general chat thread should be opened where anything goes. Politics / Religion /Porn / Harry Redknapp anything distatsteful really. I would probably avoid it but at least it would be contained. People will always try and push the boundries so let them, that's what I say, just not on every bloody thread.

Also maybe if people were forced to publish their age maybe they would think twice about getting wound up when they notice that they are actually arguing with a 15 year old kid and vice versa with someone of the older generation (respect your elders, especially Fran, Godders & beddy :emoticon-0105-wink: )

I would like to use this site much more than I do but I sign in, see the sniping and just can't be arsed. That's my problem I know but I wonder how many people are the same and dont bother to post very often and just have a browse for any new news (as a massive contradiction, I'll be honest, I'm loving the Saint Gaston thread though, the hysteria!!! & DTLW is doing a sterling job on twitter and obscure italian website updates, I don't know what we'd do without them)

In answer to your question it has been put to the administrators and is being discussed on a moderators only board.

I agree that the mods do a good job and I find it embarrassing when people direct rude or offensive remarks personally towards the mods just because they disagree with a decision or think they could do a better job.

I simply do not have to time to volunteer. My job does not allow for it due to travelling and the hours worked. If I was in an easy 9-5 I would oblige, however I am not.
