Like the rest I'm intrigued to see what dealings can be done from now until the end of the transfer window. It's looking increasingly likely that both Adam and Spearing are heading out the door with Cole quickly following suit if he's keen on the West Ham move. The Carroll situation is a little more complicated, I'd rather he stay but talk of Newcastle attempting a last ditch 17 mill bid won't go away. Now for me that is a decent offer but it means us losing half of what we paid for him but we have to face reality that we will never see that 35 mill back.

What's more exciting is the names we're being linked with. Dempsey is a proven PL player and scorer and hopefully we can get him for a rather cheap deal seeing as though he is 29 years old if im not mistaken.

Another name we're linked with is Daniel Sturridge. It's clear to see the boy has potential but he is frustrating as he sometimes is very selfish with the ball. However there have been flashes of brilliance and he does score regularly when given a run in the team (cast your minds to about last season or the season before cant quite remember when but the had a great start to the season when he had a series of starts for the Chelsea team).

And today we're linked with a loan for Affellay although a number of clubs are interested in him so I don't know what our chances are of signing him.

What are your thoughts and who would you like to go out of Liverpool and who would you like to see come in before the transfer window closes.

Im the same as the OP when it comes to Sturridge I know he is frustrating but the potential is there. Players out Adam & Cole without a doubt when it comes to Spearing then I wouldn't mind if he stayed as cover but he just isn't going to play so understand he may want a move.

I would like Downing to go he's so bad it frustrates me that he's even on our bench. (Hope he proves me wrong if he stays)

I will agree with you about Downing. Im frustrated that we didn't go for Adam Johnson he is much better then Downing and is not afraid to take on defenders.

Brendan has shown that he's not afraid to drop players who do not perform such as downing and I hope he sees that downing is not of Liverpool standard. I want downing to go but I highly doubt that he'll leave this transfer window.

Adam, Joe Cole, and Spearing out. Huntelaar and Affellay in.

Carroll for me showed at the end of last season why he should be kept but if hes not in Brendans plans then he should be moved on, we can't have players sitting there on big wages if they are not playing.

Downing should be given another season imo. When he moved from Boro to Villa he was awful in his first season and was one of the best wingers in the league the next season so maybe he will be a lot better this season.

Adam, Spearing, Cole all out without a look back please. Carroll I'd like to see go because I honestly don't think he'll ever do well for us. I'd much rather have Sturridge than Carroll. Affellay would be awesome- he's been part of tiki taka before.

I think Dempsey and Walcott are the ones we'll see coming in. I'd be reasonably happy with that. 2 players with the potential to score 10+ goals in a season for us added to the squad.

Gets us closer to the target of 70+ goals anyway.

Cole, Carroll, Adam and Spearing out. Possibly Doni/Jones aswell.

Good point, we need good cover and with Doni being away and Jones not up to the job we could do with a keeper.

The sturridge one seems to be dying a short death, rumours circulating are that Chelsea want £25/€31 million. Other news flying around is that Andy Carroll is interesting AC Milan. However I don't see much truth in that, as they have just gazumped Everton and Arsenal for Niang.

As exciting it would be to have the choice from Suarez, Borini, Sterling, Assaidi and Affellay plus possibly Dempsey or Sturridge, none of them (Dempsey excluded) are reliable goal scorers. Over a season, they might all average out 10 but when you're 1-1 away from home against Reading and you get a chance in the 80th minute, you want it to fall to a solid goal machine not someone who hits the target 1/10 tries.

Also, I believe we'll be starting Allen, Lucas and Sahin as the midfield trio with Gerrard allowed to roam further forward (Enrique/Johnson provide great width already) with Suarez and one other. Who? That 5 will create a ****-storm of chances if only we had someone to finish them off. Maybe Borini will be that man, I'm not decided on him yet and he's got to get a few months to ease into the team/style but we'll need one (more) out and out striker, especially if Carroll leaves. Dempsey hasn't got age on his side so the board won't go for it and Sturridge is too much of a gamble.

I'd bet on BR having another name lined up for the striker role, perhaps not one we've considered yet - much like Assaidi.

Would Jordan Rhodes be worth taking a gamble on? It would be a curve ball, and may be typical Rodgers, who plucked Danny Graham from nowhere last season.

I think we could go for Butland.

I don't see why not. We would get him for cheap enough and if it does'nt work out we would get most if not all of our money back on him.

My guess would be Cole, Adam, Spearing all going to raise funds for another full back and winger (Dempsey). Your defence looks slightly light, and another option on wing for goals.

Do you guys see Suso getting in first team? With you playing 3 in midfield, would guess that Adam and Spearing going would leave you short. With Lucas out for a short while, Gerrard, Sarin and Allen would be first choice, with only Shelvey as cover.

Can only see Sturridge coming in if Downing goes (or maybe Walcott)

Yes I can see Adam, Spearing and Cole going. Adam and Spearing going wouldn't leave us short, as we have Henderson,Gerrard, Sahin, Allen and Shelvey. Joe Cole doesn't play as a central midfielder, he tends to play in the ''Maxi role'', and we can do without him. As for Suso, he needs longer in the reserves, I can see him going to Wigan on loan eventually. The reason for this is, is because Roberto Martinez is Spanish.
