We'll have 9 points out of a possible 12, after a difficult start on paper when the fixtures were announced.

Are we as S**** as many believe?

How does that leave the takeover - is Bates then more likely to dig his heels in?

Alright Davy, Bates is cunning and has a business brain. If he can smell blood, he'll go in for the kill. The better we're doing the less likelyhood he'll sign the agreement.

As Warnock and the majority of sensible fans are saying, we will probably look good (even promotion standard) in the first half of the season. The slump will really kick in (as per usual) in the new year when fixture congestion causes fatigue, the yellow cards rack up to create suspensions and the physical toll is stretched with injuries. Especially if the other teams around us continue to strengthen rather than weaken their squads in the January window.

So we might get a result against Blackburn and start looking forward, but as the manager has repeatedly said, we need to keep it calm and take one game at a time while our squad is in this ailing condition. Because as it stands, I fully expect another season of up and down where we eventually finish in the lower mid-table (again).

Sounds right - my worry is that early season over achievement will encourage Bates to hang on in there at the expense of everyone.

IF we can beat Blackburn, says it all really. Just say we beat Blackburn, it is likely the performance will be as bad as the standard has been so far this season, should we care?
I have never seen such a poor Leeds performance as I witnessed on Saturday and yet we won, it was dire to say the least.
There is no and I doubt there ever has been a takeover, so let's stop bull****ting each other and wake up to reality.

Well Boab, your doubting it don't make it not so - if it happens I expect to see you on here kissing a lot of plums. I see a lot of speculation from you with little subsequent fact to back it up.

Difference is it is at Elland Road though so I am hoping we can. I wouldn't say we are better than Blackburn though, if you'd seen our performances so far this season you wouldn't be saying that. Warnock doesn't make good teams, he makes teams that can grind out results so I am still hopeful, its just the lack of creativity thats worrying

I was there Saturday. It wasn't brilliant. But players are still getting used to Warnock & his way of doing things & getting effectively a new team playing together. There is progress & I'd like to see Brown & Austin as CM pairing.

Tuesday will be interesting. Clearly we want to win, but its a good opportunity to keep the squad players up to full fitness. So I'd have Kisnorbo, Brown, Grey, & Poleon all starting.

boab - you can't claim such stuff if you were not there to see it. LUTV full match replay isn't out til midweek. You have such a downer on it all at the mo, it's as if you feel you have to be even more pessimistic if Leeds win.

Either that or your ultra pessimistic posts are the sign of excess alcohol on a Saturday night.

Difficult to know exactly what he is thinking.

Reports have stated the only item to be resolved is an indemnity agreement. Most probably know this, but an IA protects the buyers from bad stuff coming up after the transaction is completed that they did not find out about before the acquisition. Reasonable, normal component of any deal, if Mr. B refuses to sign this, how can anyone enter into a transaction with him?

Seems to me, as long as the deal is sweet enough he will be on his bicycle. He may just be aiming for perfection for himself or perhaps he is trying to spite the fans by closing only after the transfer window is also closed.

Beating Blackburn and gain promotion has to be the aim, regardless of Ken Bates staying or going.

Any indemnity agreement could lead to Ken Bates facing prosecution in years to come, he will not want this as it will stop him coming home in a few years to scrounge free health care on the NHS (not that he has every paid any taxes to deserve it).

Why would he want NHS care when he can go private and get a far better standard?

Oh, so you can make a cheap point about taxation.

An indemnity agreement is a contractual document. Should have no bearing on criminal activity (the only kind that can lead to prosecution). Did you mean civil litigation?

In my opinion an indemnity agreement would allow the new owners to undertake a closer investigation of the old books.
This could lead to skeletons that Ken wants buried to rising from the past.

Without the indemnity agreement I would suspect that any new owners would prefer to let sleeping dogs lie, as they could be liable for any costs rising from Ken's skeletons.

    OP, it is the reverse.

No IA, potential owners have to do more digging (AKA due diligence) to ensure no surprises later.

With an IA in place, they can proceed with more tranquility, knowing that Bates is responsible for anything not disclosed to them that existed at or prior to the effective TO date.
