If you mean harshly then yes. The club treated him dreadfully after he accepted his punishment
They have only come out with this free transfer after Joey tweeted his version of events
Lots of you boo boys never gave him a chance
Remember he is not a murderer or a rapist
Just a good footballer with a short fuse who needed our support

Agree that Joey would be welcomed in our team AT THE MOMENT, but I think Mbia would be an ideal replacement for him. It's a shame how the year panned out with him as I feel that on the best of days he's a class act.

Do you really think we will get Mbia?
We are putting all our trust in someone who may not sign and even if he does, he is untried at this level

And you seriously take his version of events as gospel? He admitted lying in the wake of the Man City debacle so forgive me for taking todays outburst with a hefty pinch of salt. No way did he offer to resign without massive compensation.

He's had more support and chances in his career and life than most people get in a lifetime. I'm not entirely un-sympathetic towards him but I aint shedding no tears.

I don't think we're putting all our trust in him. I think we will sign 2 more players regardless of Mbia, and signing Mbia will be a bonus on top of that. I personally think it is easier for holding midfielders to adapt to a new league than lets say a striker as their role is similar throughout Europe, whereas strikers have to adapt to the way a team plays and always have that first goal milestone on their mind.

I was willing to give Joey a chance but after his Twitter rants I don't know
Yeah he was an idiot last season at Man City but I can see the guys frustration with being discarded and stripped of his number specially since he is serving a ban and paid a fine for the incident in question.
I feel we haven't seen the best of him even though we have seen the worst

Doug - let's approach this based on what JB wrote:

But when I returned to the club. I am forced to train away from the 1st team. I am stripped of the captaincy. Then made to train at 3pm Then, I am hawked around on loan. Then I have my shirt number taken without any notice. Then, I read that I wouldn't of been signed had the current regime been in place.

Ok six issues here, let's explore them further:

I am forced to train away from the 1st team.

Suspended for three months - hence entirely logical to not involve a player that won't get a starting place. Why involve a player in match day preparations that cannot play?

I am stripped of the captaincy.

I might be wrong here, but I thought this was done at the same time he was disciplined - therefore this was part of the original punishment and not when he returned to the club as alluded. This was communicated widely at the time along with the fine and 'Twitter gag' clause.

Then made to train at 3pm.

If the player has a problem with the working hours (presumably affecting child care provisions) then this should have been raised with the club at the time. Not cited in retrospect.

Then, I am hawked around on loan.

I formed the impression from JBs tweets that the Fleetwood training and view to a possible loan was a move engaged and encouraged. What's more it makes practical sense to go out on loan, sit out a shorter timespan with a club involved in more games, then build fitness to return to the fold in January. Again all plausible and acceptable.

Then I have my shirt number taken without any notice.

Probably a reasonable gripe, that said, others have given up their shirt numbers at the same time, so no particular special treatment here. A bit discourteous perhaps.

Then, I read that I wouldn't of been signed had the current regime been in place.

Where and when? MH's matchday programme notes? TF on Twitter? This needs a bit of corroboration to be taken seriously. And so what, do you think MH would have signed Jamie Mackie, or Shaun Derry, or Paddy Kenny, or Clint Hill. Not sure what this comment proves or disproves.

In summary, very little wrong here on the part of the club, certainly nothing that within context seems unusual. I think it's safe to say that JB is building a case here to support his desire to leave. The correct thing to do would be to raise these matters formally and in confidence with the club. But when has JB ever ducked the opportunity to be in the limelight?

As I opined earlier - a good footballer, but an odd personality.

Forgive the question, folks, but other than Google, Wikipedia and some grainy YouTube footage, can anybody actually say hand on heart that this Mbia is the answer to our prayers? Don't get me wrong, I hope to God that he is. But there seems to be an awful of posters on this site that have already reached this conclusion. I have to confess that I'd never heard of him until about a week ago. Then again, I hadn't heard of Diakite or Taiwo until January, so hope we're in for more of the same if he signs.

Had it been me, he'd have been off for the serious crime of using "of" instead of "have".

On the final point, I saw the post but then the club quickly removed it
As for who MH would have signed, don't get me started on that. Only Park and Junior have been good signings, maybe Cisse. The rest are not up to the standard we need.

Glad to see I got one of the boo boys going, really supportive calling our player a twat

The interesting thing to note, is that he tweeted earlier in the day that he was going to his nan's for Sunday lunch on his lap.

Whilst he's a card carrying AA Member (he Tweeted this so that removes one of the A's) and is on the cart at the moment, I wonder whether granny inadvertabtly forgot to omit the sherry in the trifle?

    This is just sickening
If a man has the guts to own up to an alcohol problem, people should support him
Based on this I don't blame Joey for leaving
