Just catching up. It wasn't deleted because of his woeful opinion on the matter, it was closed because he was talking about a football team that tapped up our players and who wants to read about it? If I wanted to read about them, I'll pop on the Liverpool board.
Were turning into the the " Witch Hunt " capital of not 606 ... P.S.didn't see the article but if the criteria for deletion is " woeful opinion " there would be a whole lot more missing articles & posts around here . Also , if a Swan supporter writes something , regardless of what the subject , I'd prefer to read it . To delete because Dai was talking about a football team that was tapping up our players is the worst reason of all for deletion . When it comes to deleting , try to use it in moderation , if at all .
Read the first part wrong & I apologize but there's been a lot of " piling on " toward certain posters , Dai being one of them . All I'm saying is make deleting more responsible , the final straw instead of a bunch of guys having a go at a poster , leading to moderators feeling safe deleting the " victim " .
Breezey, it was of no relevance to us it was about Liverpool and their tactics. I had a lot of pm's about it and people openly on the the thread wanted it gone one way or another. Damned if you do or damned if you don't. The fact it was Dai was neither here nor there, I asked him if he wanted it moved and he didn't reply. Perhaps you have a point with the way people feel about Dai that I can't argue but what can you do when people want it removed ?
You delete things because someone broke some sort of rule , not because a certain amount of posters request it . If Dai , or anyone wants to write up an article about any team tactics on our board , why not ? There's a lot of lingering anger over Daiswan saying Rodgers had every right to grab Allen in the off season , where most said he couldn't . Lets just move on & face the fact Dai was right
Cracker. If there are 10 requests to close a topic, and 3 that say keep it, then it's going to get closed, isn't it. We are here to keep the forum tidy, and ensure everyone has a good time. If 10 people are unhappy with threads, then they can request it to be closed. With Dai's thread, he was talking complete nonsense. I don't want to read nonsense, and I'm sure nobody else does.
It doesn't matter how 13 people feel about an article , only if there is proper reason for it to be removed , it's where your losing the plot & gaining a witch hunt . Done here because 10 people might get mad & I'll get banned I guess ... cheers !
Breezey, we can't please all the people all the time and I did not want to close it but felt I had to. Dai was offered an alternative but he still hasn't answered me.
But we have the control to decide whether we want to read it or not don't we. If I find a particular show on TV not to my liking I just change the channel - I don't write to the BBC asking them to stop airing that particular show.
Your not there to please people , your there to be fair to the general public . Personal message voting just doesn't stand up to what's right in my books .. off to earn , have a good one !
A lot of people do actually write in and complain, in fact a lot of people go out of their way to be offended, like the nude photos of Harry in the sun, they know it's in the paper yet about a hundred write to complain after buying the paper. On a forum that are used by adults surely they can decide if a thread is crap and ask if it can be closed ? A forum is about the users if they don't want it can be removed very easily by the moderators if requested.
Don't see why the mods have to answer to anyone. If people don't like the way the board is modded there's plenty of others they can use.
Bottom line is Dilli is the mod and if he has decided then that's it discussion over with. If you dont like the decision be a mod. Got to say it does grind when people criticise the decisions mods make but aren't prepared to step up and do the job.
Didnt see the thread but im guessing it was one that was always gonna stir up some in house fighting anyway so i for one am glad it got removed. Sometimes i genuinely think Dai just likes to be the cause of many arguments on here. And no i dont mean debates because a debate is when people are voicing their opinions and others counter it with their own opinion, Dai just personally insults people who don't agree with him so imo the thread was rightly removed.
